Ive raised his bb once on the final table, he folded to a 2.5 x (said he had suited connectors)

When 9 handed villian done re steal in mp, shoving with  after 2.5x From UTG. Looked like he done this again light when 7 handed but didn't show that time

How would you play it in this spot?

If he shoves pre, snap call and do a lap of the casino with hand both hands in air.
If he calls and bets flop of AKQ, call and do a lap of the casino, but with only one hand in air.

Tough spot. Checking to him and allowing him to push and you call has its merits as you are more likely to get it in against a worst hand but he can outdraw you tooo........ There is a small chance you might be able to keep the pot small if he checks behind.

In reality I probably shove here and get my chips in first though.

It was almost guaranteed that you'd see an over card so what more can you ask for than the 3rd nut flush draw.

If he's got a better flush draw than you and also paired the J or K that put's him on either AJ, AQ, AK or KQ.

Surely given his rep these are all shoving hands pre for him?

This means that you're either ahead now or that your flush draw's good.

The only truly terrible hands that you may see her are AA or QQ with the club which he's played trickily (and very well) pre flop by flatting.

Shove now while you've still got 2 to come if you need your flush to hit.

jam. theres plenty in the pot for the times he folds (probably quite often) and youre not in dire straits very often when he calls

On the flop i did jam, i had intended on doing so pre, unless the flop came very favourable.

I got called, bb showed    no help on turn or river for me

Afterwards friends suggested to me i was out of tourney again due to not being satisfied with taking a little, that i was always looking for more and that such was a fault in my game which regularly cost me.

I felt that in this spot i wanted more than 1 bb + my sb back and should have aimed for more, i felt 2.5x was the correct bet size that would allow me to do so, by either enticing him to come over the top or call with a likely weaker holding.

For those who said / thought shove, on the basis that the majority of times the bb would fold, would you be happy just taking down the bb & getting your sb back? I feel that to progress in a situation like mine, i needed to make more of these favourable situations

One friend suggested i had taken too much of a risk for an extra 6k and that i should have made it a min 3x or 3.5x or 4x providing a better risk / reward ratio should he elect to call

Others commented that had i just shoved i would still be in the tournament with an extra 6k in my stack and that is what i should have done, hindsight is a wonderfull thing!

As for the flop, (without taking his holding into consideration) i wondered if many would choose to check, hoping to induce a shove whilst being more than happy to call with my hand or whether most would prefer to shove and hopefully take down what is a decent pot on a scary board. Would anyone elect to check fold? Or hope / attempt to check it down?

i would check the flop with the intention of shoving if he bets.

I think this is a better way to get it in than shoving, because often if u check/shove u pick up xtra chips when he has missed this flop completely and tries to just pick up the pot.

Also, giving a free card on this board isnt a disaster as you have the ten of clubs and there arent rly many bad cards whcih can come for u on the turn if u check and he checks behind
