I honestly can't see McGhee doing any better than Calderwood did. But i also can't see us getting anyone better than McGhee. The board completely bottled it and caved into the minority of fans trying to get Jimmy out. Stewart Milne is a spineless prick and the sooner someone buys him out the better - can't wait until i make my millions.

Rumour is that Calderwood and co were paid £1m to release them from their contracts. Why not give them that to spend in the transfer market?? Now we have to probably pay someone else out of their contract to get them to Aberdeen and then give them some money to spend which will probably be less than £100k.

I really hope we get a decent manager in and we get a good run in Europe and the cups but I can't see us bettering what Calderwood has done.

Mark McGhee is a certainty for this job surely?
McGhhe then Black are favourites, but who knows. Laszlo let the cat out of the bag in his post match press conference before there was any word from Pittodrie, how did he know? Could be him.

Really don't want Laszlo. He can barely speak English and his post match interviews are a farce. I like the fact we have the most Scottish players in our team in the SPL and if Laszlo comes in we'll just turn into Hearts which would probably force me to throw myself off a bridge.

Sbragia any one?

Nope, job for life at Sunderland according to Quinn yesterday, mainly working behind the scenes.

Sbragia any one?

Doesn't strike me as someone who relishes the limelight. Some guys are better as coaches than managers.

The Aberdeen fan in my place was gutted they couldn't afford Strachan's wages!

The guy was very very hard done by. Got zero money to spend, and then Calderplank walks in and immediately gets a big boost in budget.

Anyway, ancient history, rumour is it's McGhee, all but signed.

I wouldn't mind seeing McGhee at Pittodrie, he was in the '83 side wasn't he?

So was Strachan - you could have them both.

I think Calderwood has done a decent job at the Dons but he probably has done as much as he can there. The problem for the Dons fans is that he's probably done as much there as anyone can. The days of Aberdeen challenging for the title are over,  and over for good. The best the Don's can hope for in the current set up is the odd cup and third place in the league. I don't know if any Don's fans believe they will have days like they did in the 80s again or whether the desire is to be the third team in Scotland on a regular basis and close the gap a bit on the OF is their real aim.

Changing the point a bit Aberdeen's first goal yesterday was pure com.
