Why let her out and then put her back in?     I haven't read the full news story as I switch off when it is celeb orientated ( Unless it is concerning Andrea Corr  Wink  ) .    I hate celebs, but it seems a bit unfair to let her out and then put her back in a day later.    I did hear one moron on the news when her Lawyer announced she was going back inside.  He screamed "Noooooooo" in an hysterical tone of sadness.   WTF?    She is only a celeb at the end of the day

People like this just think they the law doesnt apply to them. She got banned for careless driving, then got caught driving while banned, then a week later got caught again under the influence i think. She deserves her sentence for the complete arrogance of it all.
All this fuss just sickens me to be honest. She will have a solitary cell with a TV and a few books and will just have to be bored for a month. Big deal. Poooooooooooor Paris.

The sad sad yanks who are making it out to be the biggest travesty in the history of American justice ought to be asking themselves some fairly serious questions about their moral standing. I wonder how much they paid off that sheriff to let her out in the first place. A bet she is treated like a hero when she gets out.

Such a joke

I have never met these people, we move in different orbits, and it really does not concern me one iota. I am not fully conversant with their cases, I am only aware of the media perception of them.

However, three points of interest:
1) the extent to which wealth can provide a better legal defence, if at all, in the USA and here in the UK, and our acquiescence in it.
2) the propensity of a hypocritical media to build up and knock down people's personas, for our edification. I do not believe George Best was a nice guy, or Daniella Westbrook was the devil in Burberry.
3) some of the real injustices in the world, compared to this trivia that we glimpse: Michael Shields, Darfur, and so on.

police can use discresion in such instances, eg; they pull over a speeding car containing a bloke driving his pregnant missus to the hospital, they dont nick him, they give him an escort........

Or perhaps remind him that he'd be better off delivering a kid carefully by the side of the road than delivering it forcefully onto the road after a high speed collision.

yeah the babys head is sticking out of his wifes skirt and the police officer is going: "this reminds me of the time when i was starting out on the force, ah mustve been about 20 years ago, thinking about it i'm sure it was only 19 years ago, anyway i was eating a mcdonalds, or hang on it mightve been a wimpy, well that was back when wimpy was inexpensive, saying that i did used to like pizza hut as well, anyway i was in my car eating some fastfood of somesort and.................." the baby by now has crawled into the front to change the radio station to 5 live.

Hope that Liverpool have learned from what the Libyans did and don't give Shields a victory parade at the airport with dancers and people waving flags and that.
