If I was intending to make a small raise, I'd still make it 600 here; why so small??

For a 3 bet, I'd raise more in the first hand.  Hand 2 he's showing keen by 3 betting so much, make it a bit more, around 2.4k.

Just what I'd do obv, not necessary correct!

2nd one i like.

First one is way to small, make it at the least 640 but probs 720, although i prefer a flat more than a 3b.

Iron just have a standard raise size and stick to it.

My raise sizing in tourneys is as follows.

Opening 2.5x and adding 1bb for each limper, if i am 3betting making it 3x the open.

Typically i 3x my opens pre antes, and 2.5x with antes.

3b size i tend to 3b 3x pre antes and smaller after the antes depending on my position.

why smaller post-antes? seems strange as obv you're giving much better odds. unless its just because stacks are shallower?

in part you are more likely to be stealing - therefore number of attemts v's number of sucesses if fewer

eg

blinds are 1000 2000 200 10 handed therefore pot  = 5k pre

2.5x  = 5k
3x = 6k

at 2.5x only 1 in 2 raises needs to be sucessful to be break even
at 3x 2/3 needs to be successful (& will show a minor gain)

That said bearing in mind no-one raise folds with < 20bb's nowadays this is prob less relevant

however the smaller raise size is more relevant as people are more likely to be reshoving therefore you are less exposed

This is back to front surely.

Raise more with antes less without.
