Hi Folks, Just wondering if anyone knows of a good rule book thats on the market, Me and a few pals are having a little home game and with me being the most experienced of the players i'm looking to clean up
but just in case something hits the fan with regards to calling out of position, under-raising and whatever else might confuse us newbies i'm thinking that getting a book might be a good idea. Thanks in advance. Dave

Hi PokerDave,
Yes, blonde published a complete "Home Game Rules" series of articles earlier this year, on our Main Site. It was written by AdamM.
I'll try & find it for you & post a link.

Bob Ciaffone's "Robert's Rules of Poker" are available for free on a number of websites.
Just Google the above and you'll find them in Word or PDF format.

There's this guy at the Gala, I won't name him.
He thinks he knows absolutely everything about poker and the rules of the game. The only problem is that he doesn't, he just has an uncontrollable urge to pretend that he does.
Whenever there's a discrepancy of any kind, the 'walking rulebook', as I like to call him, sticks his schnoz in and tells every1 what's what.
You have to laugh sometimes. I recall a pot where there were a few side pots. The dealer was being quite slow so the 'walking rulebook', who incidentally wasn't involved in the hand, decided to get his fingers dirty and sort it out. In fact, he just couldn't resist.
He started moving all the chips saying, 'Right, you raised this amount', 'This goes in front of you', 'Let's take this from there'. After a while, he suddenly stood up, paused and said, 'Nah, I've got that wrong'. The pot was completely messed up and I just couldn't help but laugh out loud.

No, I'm at Luton all week. But maybe the week after.
I LOVED the atmo at Spyders. I could play there every night of my life. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I was in Heaven. Not too many Librarians or Accountants there though, eh?
But I felt safer there than in many "proper" cardrooms.
If you can get Viktor drunk again, I'll even play the cash game again......

Dave/tikay
my last question about this got lost on the internet poker section, stupid place to put it really. what's happening at spiders? is it a regular game now? used to play snooker there and wouldn't mind a bit of local poker as well.
Dave, do you have an email account at blueyonder or am I way off in guessing who you are?

Yes, I believe it will be every Wednesday night. Not for widows & orphans, as the saying goes, but if you want a buzz, forget the web & go to Spiders.
Great hospitality, a good laugh, nice informal atmo, and an "interesting" bunch of lads.
