No not at all. The charge was one of "intentionally trying to deceive the referee" which anyone of sound mind* knows is virtually impossible to ascertain let alone prove in a court of law.

Quote from Arsenal.
We were able to show there was contact between the keeper and Eduardo and that the decision should be annulled," a Gunners statement said.
Boruc's protestations on the night make him a cheat then. Be interested to hear his view on the decision... and UEFA.

I think that the key words are "intentionally deceive"

[x ] UEFA realised the can of worms they were about to open [ ] It can be proved there was intention to win a penalty through deception [ ] Post game knee jerk reactions are wise

I think that the key words are "intentionally deceive" i think the key is that arsenal have stated that they proved there was contact. Firstly how? Secondly, Boruc should surely be charged then with trying to intenionally decieve the ref?

Obviously the contact can be seen from one of the camera angles, but whether it was Eduardo to Boruc or Boruc to Eduardo is is a moot point. Personally I do not think that Boruc should be charged.

Yep, you're right about the charging thing. For both players IMO. The point i was trying to get across in a round about way was why don't UEFA just come out and say they go it wrong rather than fannying about and saying there was contact. Good decision for football IMO.
