Hi Everybody

Would like some advice and feedback on a hand I played, and my thought process during the hand. I have not been doing too well recently (see SAS thread for more details) and so had dropped down the limits and was trying to regain playing my proper game. I actually think I play this hand OK but would like to know what other players think. Is my play -EV?

OK I have QQ in the small blind. This is good. UTG makes a standard raise. I only have 16 hands on him but he is playing 19/19, so I am well ahead of his range for even an EP raise. It fold to me and I raise to $2, again can't see much wrong so far. Big blind folds and I get reraised to to $5.60. I am putting him on AA, KK, AK or maybe JJ or 10-10. I think if I shove here, I fold out most of these hands, AA or KK will call, AK might call and JJ and 10-10 should fold. Not even sure this play gets made with JJ or 10-10 very often, he would be more likely to just call my 3-Bet. I elect to just call and get it in on a flop without an Ace or a King. Not even sure this is right even putting AK in his range I don't stack him on say an 8 high flop and AA and KK still take my stack, my expected win rate is not great against this range anyway, even on a flop without an ace or a king I am only about a 59% favourite. Anyway the flop comes King high meaning I basically beat nothing but a bluff so I have to fold.

Is this thought pattern about right, I don't think I can push preflop with QQ here, it's never a fold is it?

seems a bit too weak for that level tbh, i think you can factor in getting called by a lot worse pre if you shove at that level.

any A, K, or sickly conected flop and you're folding, its almost like set mining for 1/4 of your stack

yeah i dont like the call pre and fold on flop

i would shove the qq pre if i am up against KK or AA then so be it

but your up against weaker hands often enough to make the shove pay

I would only flat the 4 bet if you intend to check raise all in, on any flop not containing an ace.

So it's a shove over the top of the 4-bet then??

Nah you flat the 4 bet. We see a flop and check raise his cbet on all flops without an ace.

If he is bluff 4 betting we pick up a more this way, I am not sure I like this line without reads etc but it is better than flatting a 4bet and then check folding the king high flop.

OK, is this because the c-bet commits him so he has to call us with worse if he has say JJ or a smaller pair? But if we shove PF, JJ and other such hands might fold?

he might fold after you check raise his c bet but you also pick up his c bet

This.

Also someone who is 19/19 and is aware of position wont be playing 19/19 utg and 19/19 on the button.

I'd make your decision pre when we're oop. Shove or fold.
