Me and Celtic have just come up with an idea (mine if it's warmly received, Celtic's if it's slagged) for 2009, a Blondite G Luton League.
Points awarded for every final table, similar to the Grand Prix scoring system. This total would be divided by the number of tournaments played. I'd keep score as long as all results appear on here.
At the end of the year the top nine could play a final table, with starting stacks a la the GUKPT champion of champions, for a trophy. If everyone wanted to chip in a bit of cash, that could also be played for. Good idea?

Great idea.
I'm up for it as long as the league is financed out of the prize pool.

Thanks, it was all my idea obviously. It's now FREE to enter.
I'll sort four trophies, one for the league winner, one for the final table winner, one for finishing last and a special one for shove monkey of the year.
Tuesday and Saturday tournaments do count but to qualify for the league all players must play at least half their tournaments on other days.
Players must participate in a minimum of 25 tournaments throughout the year.
I'll be reliant on each player letting me know at the end at each month how many tournaments they played. Cheating would be considered downright sad.
Win - 15ts, Second - 12, Third - 9, Fourth - 7, Fifth - 6, Sixth - 5, Seventh - 4, Eighth - 3, Ninth - 2, any other registered finish - 1. Savers only paid to two places below the official pay-out positions.
Tom Myland and Steve Kirk welcome to participate if they come out of their respective Blonde closets.
If you're interested, just post as much on here.

OK, dropped to £100, this is more about bragging rights than anything.

Yes, the Bragging Rights are key, & that's what why I'm most looking forward to it.

The money could be paid in instalments, presumably, to help those who can't manage that much up front?

I'm happy to go with the flow.

Will the Dancers & Upstarts pay the same amount? We could introduce a "handicap" payment sysytem, cheaper for them, to give them a chance, yes? And players like MDD & myself - proper players - pay more, as we are sort of nailed-on to win.

No point charging Compo, Sicilian or Celtic, imo.

MDD is banned. Too curmudgeonly, multi-dimensional and not a Blonde member, closet or otherwise.

Tightend is disqualified.
Actually I'm more inclined to think this should be a free to enter job, all about the trophy at the end imo and pleasure at seeing Nick Salad's sidekick propping up the league table.
Yep, it's amended on the original rules bit, this is now FREE to enter.

I'm liking this even-handed & wholly impartial Rules system.
