Away from league business for a minute, I watched an interview with Simon Trumpet on Sky's 'The Club' last night. Best show on Sky by a long chalk imo.
Anyway, he was asked whether the recession had affected DTD. His answer was no, footfall was up, mainly because they started staging two tournaments each night. For example, one with a buy-in of around £20, the other £50 plus.
Given that the numbers for Tuesday's £30 donk-off are always good, would it be worth Luton trying something similar?
How about a £20 FO Mon, Wed, Thu and Fri, starting at 8pm?
The forward-thinking management will surely consider it?

Lol.

DTD run as many as FOUR Tourneys some nights. They all have their own Colour-coded Plasmas, & players exits are recorded on each Plama within 15 seconds of each Exit. Each Tourney starts on time to the second, & all breaks are exactly to the second. At the start of the Break, the Clock just ticks down, & at "Zero", the Dealers just start Dealing. None of this is even remotely difficult. The Prize Money, for every Spot, is on the Plasma as soon as Registrsation closes.

So yes, let's hope Luton give it a spin.

It's achingly sad how bad Luton has become at running things, but I love the people who play there, so they've got me trapped all ends up.

I hear you sir......by rights I should go and play somewhere else.....i am close enough to london after all......7 for me this month chomps me old mucker

Just 4 in June for me - I think. If that's wrong, Sir Snitchalot will put you right.

I'll not be playing any more Luton Tourneys this month.

I was thinking on similar lines after last Fridays mix up.  I see no reason why they cant run the normal Friday £75 event AND the monthly £250 on the same night , especially as the latter doesn't attract big numbers.

Don't think I've seen this many comedy figures since The Mighty Atom and her pals took to the stage for the final time...

Executed the perfect bluff last night.. a thing of beauty. Norman Chad would have called it the bluff of Wednesday.. Snatty and Nirvana ran for the hills.. unfortunately tried to get it past Dennis 'the yank ' Barnes who sighed and called me with 3 pair ... LOL... Lucky I was bluffing as it was the only thing he could beat.

He then donked about 13k to Lalits turn bet and river push calling with 2nd pair 4 kicker.. was LOL as he was genuinely gutted he'd lost

Officially WPIL.....

I was 100% gonna check-raise until Dennis queered me pitch and called in between. That hand where he called with 2nd pair - you don't mention that this was after Lalit's first bullet was opening into a dry side pot - quite remarkable to put lalit on a bluff there.

I, the nark, pulled off 2 great (imo) plays last night - got Snatty off a hand pushing with bottom pair on the board. I hadn't seen anything and it felt like the only way to gather a few. Later on the final table I called 2 lalit bullets with second pair to take a nice pot. If I hadn't have gotten unlucky losing my first stack with the worse of 3 flushes at showdown I imagine we would have been done by 11pm imo.

Lot of fun playing with so many blondes in the comp

BTW, most comedic value from a call/re-raise was on the final table and that's your only clue. Worthy of a small comp. Guess the hand of the BB ? Glass of wine for nearest to the flag next time I see you at Luton.

Blinds might have been something like 400-800. One UTG limper, big blind has seemed a fairly loose calling station type based on around 8 hands or so seen. On the button I raise with Aces to 4500 - absolutely convinced that BB will call. Flop comes something like Q62 rainbow. Checked to me, I bet 10,000, he re-raises me all in for about another 4000 - I'm never passing obv. What does he have ?
