matt, how old are you? have you considered doing 5/3/1? very nice programming, can find torrents to get it for free

http://www.flexcart.com/members/elitefts/default.asp?m=PD&cid=370&pid=2976

35 mate. Never heard of it??

Have you got any cliffs?

day 1 shoulder press, day 2 deadlift, 3 bench, 4 squat, whatever assistance stuff you like, up to you. 3 weeks on 1 week go light, just really nice smooth programming, ebook is short, only take a minute to read it

I don't know the excersices that much. Any chance someone can chuck me a 4 day a week programme on here please? I got pretty buff/lean last year at 1 point before sustaining an injury that kept me out for 4 months and then xmas came upon us so i ended up getting a bit chunky again, just started back with some serious cardio for the last week.

Think i'll be a bit bored just hitting the same routine as before, i want it to be 30 minute max (lunch hour). Machines are pretty basic at the gym i go to, no smith machine.

Do they have free weights?

yep.

Hi ACE"
If your looking for a 30 minute weights workout then take a look at stronglifts 5x5. Pretty much ideal for short, hard workouts.
These fit perfectly with free weights

I just did my first session of this on my lunch hour. After the 4th set of squats with 60kg total i stuck the bar up, then felt like i weighed nothing, then felt like i weighed a ton, then staggered across the gym on legs that would have looked to some jelly for advice on stability.

2 hours later and my legs are still freaking out. Last year i was rattling that off with 90kg including the bar no problem so thought i'd start easy.

8-5? Piece of piss to have a schedule around that mate. I leave the house at 06.00 every morning and don't get home till 18.40 and manage to squeeze in 5-6 sessions at the gym a week. (admittedly I do 3 sessions on the weekend and have no life Smiley

I know you said it increased your strength, how about stamina and size of your muscles?

Frankly i feel like a bit of a bellend have a protein shake at work after the gym. Is it ok to have one in the evening when i get home? or is that pointless? I usually have something semi rich in protein after the gym like tuna salad.

Size has definitely improved. Definition is a lot better than it was before the creatine (obv sticking to the diet and doing decent cardio helps with trimming the fat off that). I can lift more weight and find doing sets of reps easier over a longer period. I am not sure how much of this is due to taking 5Mg of creatine every day but I was quietly impressed TBH.

The only reason I was thinking of not taking it for a while is because I don't know how much of it is due to the creatine and how much is just natural progression and am rather curious. (it's the end of my cycle this week anyways so I could just extend the not taking part and see how it goes) Obv if I was getting heart palpatations and funny shit like that, I'd chuck it in a second.

have it whenever you want mate. I ussually have mine during the day at work because it's easier but I have not noticed the difference between taking it during the day or straight after coming back from the gym.

Put your protein powder in the bottle and have it as you leave the gym so that no one at work even sees it? Normally I'd say fk what ppl at work think but I do know what you mean.

Fine if you take it in the evening but much better to have it hit your system straight after a session.

This, your muscles need it straight after the workout. You'll also get a lot less soreness the day after

It's stunted his growth and caused his body to create loads of hair.

On a serious note, love reading this thread and look forward to you all posting up the massive weights you'll be lifting later in the year.  Think I'd struggle with the bar on its own...

Yeah the gym owner says to me you have like a 30-45 minute window after a session when you need to 'feed' the muscles so to speak. I normally get one at the gym before I leave to save me making one when I get home as I'm lazy lol.
