I find it interesting that people at the poker table are quick to judge other players, most of us have our opinions, but tend to keep them to ourselves .... I guess forums are there to let off steam or seek advice answers and confirmation from other players.
Just because I did well in one national tournament doesnt entitle me to write a blog, I agree, and I purely use facebook to update friends irregularly of what im up to, so hardly a blog in the true sense. I still have a lot to learn about the game, I have already been introduced to the green eyed monster that tends to accompany success... to state that someone is a nob is a bit harsh imo and appreciate the balance being address by my learned Scottish friend!
I have a 3 hour round trip to play tournaments in Luton and play there on the advice of my trainer Graham Pound, as he feels that the quality of players there is generally of a good standard and that I can learn a lot and hone my poker skills there. I have played several GUKPT and GCBPT main events and have had relative sucess in these without cashing. Played EPT and WSOPE side events and several festivals at Luton and Brighton as well as the DTD deepstack at Nottingham about 6 or 7 times, always making day 2, before I finally cracked it. So i am not under any illusions that I am better than the majority of players who I play against in national tournaments. The recent cash and several people staking me means that I will be able to play about 6 tournaments over the next 2 months and I think after that I should be able to take stock of whether I am any good at this game or not. Because of the fact that I havent had an awful lot of experience of final tabels except at a local level, I have to say that I tend to be led by the other players and realised in retrospect that after 3 double ups I could easily have gone on to win the recent Luton £100 FO, but I did end up with £800 which I was not unhappy with. However after that experience, you will be pleased to know that I will no longer be doing deals with other players or for the bubble, unless like the DTD deal it is in my favour or you guys wish to trade league points for cold hard cash. I look forward to visiting you again soon and would like to finish on the fact that I do respect a lot of the player's games at the GCasino and you can be assured that I will not be calling anyone a nob even if I think it to myself. may the poker Gods be with you!

Good reply Sementic     .....     it went on longer than phuqqing Ghandi.

Unfortunately, you appear to lack the one definite requirement for playing at Luton     .....       a sense of humour.

Also you're leaving yourself wide open to the other curse of the G    .....     merciless piss-taking.

Seriously, what's the point of including a list of events you've failed in (is that why you need a trainer?) because of comments about a 'deal', in a run of the mill 'Luton Ton'    ....    that you admitted you weren't that happy with yourself.

Errrrrm, why do you need stakees if you've recently won at DDT (sic)     .....         and why mention it?

I haven't read so much self promotion since the last Election leaflet dropped through the letterbox     .....       are you that insecure?

So, yup    ....       you're a Nob!

Just LOL Luther.......

Nah, can't be doing with the official scrabble dictionary, it's full of weirdo two-letter words (not 'ce').
Collin's distionary is in the post and winging its way to the fens at we speak.

* eight-letter word sir donks, E N L I S T E D masterfully being put through the word G N O M E. That should have been three 50-point bonuses on the spin but Hoopy said G N O M E R S wasn't a word. What else could someone who collects gnomes be called ffs?

* Also wouldn't let M O N G E R S through. Ridic.

Minus points for mis-spelling a league senior's name in future imo.

if it's any consolation Mich I count myself as middle-aged too. Can't stop the passing of the years so might as well embrace it imo.
