Wiiiiiiiiii, thanks for all the messages of grats.
You can only beat what's in front of you. I prepared my a-game last night in readiness for a showdown with Clawbird but Ding was the only scrabble leaguer in attendance, although MDD showed a definite interest in proceedings and threw down the future gauntlet. Only if he can bring in his £35 OED though.
Words of the night: plovers, dickier, bireme, matador
In my defence he was ridic lucky,
with several 7 letter words just appearing in front of him, lots of blanks and 's' while I had mainly to contend with lots of q, x and z's and my brain. All rather unfair if you ask me.
Just when the tide is turning and I am getting into the groove he feigns tiredness and has to go, leaving me to rather sucessfully wind up Boer Wars by phone so much he is ringing the card room from the M6 in sheer panic. Class. ;-)
hmmmmm this has a familiar ring about it

In our game Chompmeister was quite a way behind me in the scores (no denying it now Mr I've Never Been Beaten At Scrabble .... Drainy and the lovely LittleRed (who incidently I vote for being our scrabble adjudicator) where there to witness to match.
So, as beads of sweat appear on that round head of his, and the pen that he was chewing vigorously starts to disintergrate, Mr Chompy suddenly finds a 7 letter word ... and thus appears that gloat we have all come to love and snigger about. As the man himself is sitting there, basking in self-adulation having just added up his total, and while he is still picking out his next 7 letters, MissHoldyFoldy promptly ADDS to his 7-letter word which also ran across the tripple word square .... wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii my lead is maintained
The look of horror on Chompy's face was nearly lost amongst the howls of laughter from the rail ..... and Drainy promptly whips out his Camera phone (oi oi, who thought I was going to say something else then

) and starts taking pics of the board ... well played that man, evidence is critical here! But who is keeping an eye on Chompy I ask??? And why do I ask this?

Hhmmmmmmmmmmmm funnily enough the 7 letters that he picked out 'happened' to spell another 7 letter word straight off ......
so, members of the Luton Scrabble League ... I beseech you to keep a close close eye on the 'UnBeaten One' when he is picking out his letterz innit
