bubble time live

iv been playing since jan 2009 once or twice a week only in my local casino ,no online. Without the help of any books iv managed to learn the game to the stage where iv broken even in my 12 months if play.(didnt cash in 1st 5 months of play)
anyway im looking for any advice on the bubble period in regards to ace king suited and pocket jacks.Had them recently in tournaments but not sure if i should have played them.
heres the scenario
72 players started ,£30 d/c freezeout , 14 players left , avarage stack 50k , blinds 1.5/3k ,me 38k (12 big blinds)
im dealt ace king spades on the button and the guy in seat 5 goes all in for 44k. i call ,blinds passes , he shows 77 , board misses me , im out. Should i have passed? The blinds were due to go up to 2/4k in 2 minutes time thus leaving me with 9 big blinds.
Scenario 2
Same comp 1 week later 67 players 11 players left 9 get paid avarage stack 60k ,blinds 2/4k, me 71k.
I have jacks on the button ,cut off goes all in with ace ten . i call and he hits an ace. i have 2 blinds left and exit next hand.Again should i have passed

Both are completely standard. I know its rough when you lose when you go in ahead/a key race at a key time but just got to think long term and keep making the right decisions
In the first you are below average, and need to win a confrontation to get in shape for a high cash
In the second he's made a big overbet push which wouldn't suggest QQ+, so you should call there with Jacks
Unlucky, keep at it.

IMO you made the right move in both hands if you wanted to go on a win the game which i hope you did you call, If you are happy playing for 5-7 hours and just getting your money back then fold and ladder.
Gl in your naxt game and welcome to blonde

This is why unlimited holdem is such a horrible game at times, you find a Jack and a Jack and are forced to make a wager for all your chips only to be shown an Ace and a Ten. This means you are a big favourite to win the hand as the guy has to hit an Ace to match the Ace in his hand. Obviously they hit as they always do which is why i hate these rag Ace merchants, they ruin the game in my opinion.
The problem is you need to play higher stakes to get away from these rag Ace merchants and you can't get to the higher stakes until you win but that's nearly impossible because all these rag Ace players just shove their chips in making it just a game of luck.

acc2020 - He's pulled the classic
'In Your Eye'
move, represented by the diagram below, your eye being the JJ, A10 being the ball.
Right move, wrong time, timing is everything.

Get it in and be very happy. Now that you are going to start playing online it means making +ev calls are a lot more important. But with AKs and JJ and less than 20bbs you should be extremely happy to get it in here.

When you put your chips across the line in both situations try not to shake too much from uncontrollable happyness.

Wait till you've played 5 hours, beaten 5000 runners on stars, then get your AA cracked by KQ to win your buy-in + 60% back instead of the $10k up top.
Your going to enjoy internet poker for sure

If it was something unrelated to my incorrect spelling of happiness, then you did indeed whoosh me Tom!
