Been meaning to understand this for the last couple of visits as it looks great fun. Been too lazy to learn though so cliff notes or a link to how to play would be good please.
17 days till we get to Vegas and find Hopkin dead and Cos skint.

Anyone care to explain a good strategy for playing craps?
Am I right in thinking a good way to start is just betting the pass line with a similar bet behind it as an odds bet?
14 days till takeoff

I was taught the following - not sure if it is good or bad
Bet table min on 6 & 8 (or numbers of your choosing)
when you win 2 bets, you should then "press" your 3rd winning bet (double thru your stakes on retained numbers)
continue this theroy till the cock throws a 7
this can def lead to mad spin ups, but means you dont win much without the spin ups!

Probs 6 & 8 as they are the most common to roll behind 7?

yes but the odds they pay reflect the frequency
so on a $5 min table you need to bet $6 (to make the payout easy, i think it pays 6/7 or something like that)

They reflect but are closer to the true odds than the others?
Im guessing above not stating!

Simple Craps Strategy I think we should all employ:
Bet on the exact opposite of that Bumder named BAM.
At least if he wins the world and we all knock it in hard he won't be smiling about it.

Yes I agree with that; just bet the pass line and then take full odds behind.
Pretty much the best strategy unless you want to be the panto villain and bet the "don't pass".

Better to have as small a bet as possible on the pass line and as large as you can afford behind. Casino Royale, next to Harrah's you can do $5 on the pass line and 100 times that amount behind, most other places it is 3, 4, 5 times the pass line bet.
This is because there is a small house edge on the pass line and no house edge behind it, hence its preferable to get the big bet in with no house edge. Your basically flipping a coin with the casino and they have no edge, its the only bet in the casino that doesn't.

So when you bet like this would you normally take your winnings off if they hit the point or let them ride a couple of times for the spin up?
P.s. You are my spin up hero Mr Woods.
