ty for the info

As for the gambling thing - there is no way you can call what you do gambling. You are playing a gambling game (obv) but playing a huge volume of games applying strict BRM where using an optimal strategy gives you an edge and pretty much guarantees long term reward takes the gamble out of it IMO.

No one would call a stockbroker a gambler, even though they are complete degen

Poker is gambling of course, but people that bang on about that dont really understand the concept of expectation... The reality is that you 'gambling' with the odds in your favour, as opposed to trying to overcome the odds (which you are doing playing bandits - they even tell you that they have 70% payiout or whatever it is - pretty big edge in their favour!) Casinos win in long term because they are constantly taking very small edges, they dont care that someone wins or loses in in the short term.

Playing the games you do with the volume you put in you doing exactly the same as a casino.. taking lots of small edges every day regardless of the short term swings

You always going to get people telling you your gambling... Must beat working though!!

Congrats on your results btw

Worst example ever of a profession that no-one associates with gambling.

This isn't directed at mondatoo but folk reading the thread. There is a danger in getting too complacent with the casino analogy.

The man here has a great game, the mental reflexes to play 24 tables at a time and the concentration endurance to do maintain a high standard of play through 12 hour sessions. With this full package he's still only able to make 300 of these small bets with an edge each day.

A player of these games shouldn't think of himself as a casino, a more fitting analogy is they are a solitary box on a solitary blackjack table on a rainy Tuesday night.

I wasn't suggesting that what mond is doing is easy or to be taken for granted... Just using the casino example as way of illustrating long term wagering with odds in you favour as opposed to against (even if only very slightly)

But Mond is gambling, in a way that hasn't been commented upon. Look at what may happen with the new US legislation - something that's come out of nowhere and may have a huge negative effect on any pro poker player, just like UIGEA did. In the same way that stockbrokers get wiped out by the black swan events that affect the market now and then, some previously very secure, long-term winners may find their game conditions are destroyed overnight.

When I mentioned me Mam saying she thought it was gambling,it was a passing comment not a lecturing one, think I maybe gave the wrong impression there. From the very start of this all my family have been very supportive with what I wanted to do which I appreciate a lot as it makes things a lot easier having support.

Sigh, just wrote a longish post about today whilst eating me tea and me glass of pop slipped out me hand and went all over the keyboard and monitor.I then clean it up but accidentaly wiped the post.dngfolakjndflsakndglksafnd.

Short version of it instead is: played poorly today, couldn't get going and ran decent to finish to get out of a $700 hole.I cut the day short as it was tilting me hard that I wasn't playing very well, sometimes I just have a day when I'm not feeling on it.

Games today : 200
Profit today : $58.00
VPP's to SN : 14619.86

Current bankroll : $5259.26

Never posted on here, although ive looked everyday, you are a sicko man, nice work and keep it up. Mbn to have the support of your family, i wanted to play fulltime a couple of months back and quit job as sparky, my mum ( who i still live at home with, only 20 tho) said if i quit my job to play poker i gotta find somewhere else to live, even though she knows how much ive made from it.

Like i said, keep up with the good work, gl with the challenge, and enjoy your break once you make SN
