Where's the rest of your meals Ray?

Do you just have Tea and Supper?

This could be a huge factor in your generally shit diet. You really need to be eating a minimum of 3 times a day and ideally space them out well.

Can you start adding a few times to your daily routine such as:

12pm - wake up

5pm - tea

10pm - supper

2am - bed

You serious, Matt?

I've only eaten one meal per day for the last 30 years. Never had any weight problems, either, (except for occasional mild obesity), but that's just because I eat bad food. I'd be three times as heavy if I ate three times per day, surely?

On second consideration that 5/1 might be value.

BOOM.

You made me laugh the other day, when that football bet for 2014/15 was put up, & you noted that allowance should be made for mortality matters. Not wrong, either.

Not sure what other grinders do, but I always have something in the house that I can make/preprepared that I can eat in the 5 min breaks.

I get joke hungary if I grind more than 5/6 hours without something.

I very rarely feel hungry during a session, on average say maybe once in every 30 sessions I will feel a little hungry, by 5 past the hour that feeling has gone.

Bit of a thread hijack, but...

I once worked out that when people but their tickets, most people had a better chance of dying than winning the National Lottery Jackpot.  You'd have to be young and leave it to the last minute for this not to be true.  Some people are old enough that no matter how late they left buying their ticket, they'd still be more likely to die.  I don't know if this still holds but I am pretty sure there used to be a delay between last ticket time and draw time.

This doesn't mean that death is very likely, it isn't, just National Lottery Hackpots are really unlikely.

After you mentioned the chance of you dying it is now stuck in my head every time someone puts up a long range bet.  I don't think you want to be putting bets on that are more likely to end up in Paddy Power's pockets than yours.  5/1 chances over 3 months you 'll be fine, but those 33/1s where you are waiting 12 months, I don't know.   Luckily for me, I am a bit younger, and Ladbrokes and Paddy's give me no chance to leave them any noticeable money.

Are you levelling us that you are trying to eat more healthily and then posting that nonsense or do you really eat what I imagine is the throwaway from School dinners every day?

Jeez monda

I 100% am eating much healthier than I was, that's not debatable. No idea what "I imagine is the throwaway from School dinners every day?" is supposed to mean ?

I clearly eat too much cheese, bread also, I'm prob eating less than 1/3rd of the bread I was eating. My meal sizes are half what they were, maybe more, I've cut out all the crisps/sweats and haven't ate one snack since I started this.

Whilst it's minimal exercise at the minute doing the press ups challenge is at least something to start off with. If I complete it successfully I'm planning to then go ahead and turn my spare bedroom into a mini Gym.

When I do my next shop I will buy fish such as Sea bass etc, find replacements to the unhealthy sauces and look to have more balance in what I eat.

So no, it's not a level.

Love your honesty Monda regarding the eating but what you're doing isn't particularly healthy.

Just having smaller portions of bad stuff doesn't constitute a more healthy diet unfortunately. You really need to flick some good shit in there too if you can.

Don't worry about the sea bass and fancy stuff like that, way too much hassle to cook properly and quite expensive as well. Just stick to chicken and lean minced beef (if you like mince of course) and you won't go far wrong.

My evening meals consist of something like this:

Take one of these:

Chop it in to small pieces with a pair of these:

Fry it in a frying pan for about 5 minutes with some of this:

Add a few random ones of these:

Add some frozen stuff such as this:

Stick on a plate with some of this:

For a little bit of flavour add some of this:

Takes a total of about 13 minutes to make. Contains good quality protein in the chicken, decent carbs in the rice and obviously there's a lump of veg in there and it's really low fat.

Yes it's not going to win any prizes on masterchef but you're a bloke and quite rightly you don't care.

For a bit of variation just add a sauce while you're cooking, change the stir fry for mixed peppers, change the rice for pasta, change the chicken for mince...... You get the idea.... But if you don't just ask!

Pretty sure you could manage that mate, it's piss easy.

If you're interested and if I can be arsed I'll photograph/time my meal tomorrow night and I'll also list the ingredients and overall protein, carbs, calories and fat.

I'm not a chef and don't like cooking (similar to yourself I'm sure) but I've found a way of eating healthily that fits in with being a bloke.

By being a bloke I mean you don't know where the fresh veg aisle is at the local tesco and you really don't want to either.

Pretty sure that's what you're after mate so let me know if I can be of assistance.

I am doing that though ?

Yday

Ate : 250g Chicken breast fillets in Loyd Grossman sauce with Fusili Pasta.

Supper : Kept over some of the Chicken from main meal and ate it cold in a sandwich with one slice of bread buttered.

I know I bought the wrong mince, will rectify that going forward, wraps are pretty bad as well, not buying them anymore.

I can't just eat mince or chicken everyday ? All the chicken I buy scissors are involved as I cut all the fat off.

Meals like below are bad ?

Tea : 2 pork chops with all fat cut off, small portion of chips, gravy, 2 x white bread with lighter lurpak

Breakfast/Lunch/Tea : 250-300grams Chicken, Buttery mash potato (this is obv bad, will replace with healthier potato), Roast potatoes, 3 x Yorkshire puddings, Carrots/sprouts/brocolli, Gravy. Also had the skin on the chicken, I'm sure this isn't too good for you but it's just so nice

What am I supposed to be eating instead of crackers/toast/cereal for my Supper ? As I said will cut down on the cheese.

As a bloke, I don't go to the local Tesco, the aisles are much easier to find in the virtual world, then next day they bring it to your door, love it Tongue

I've gave the jist of what I'm eating, I will get back to posting daily eating when I can give accurate details of my daily intake, which will be in couple of days.

I'm going to do another shop tonight, I will again post everything I buy, which can be amended until midnight Smiley

Pretty sure that was just one meal out of all of them.

Why can't you eat mince or chicken every day? If the alternative is a 9" pizza then I'm pretty confident you can.

It's pretty bad mate unfortunately. Just because it isn't as bad as a huge cheeseburger or 9" pizza doesn't make it good. It doesn't matter how small the portion of chips is it's still chips. Any amount of white bread with any shade of lurpak isn't great.

It's not going to kill you obviously but if you want an improved diet these just don't cut it.

Just because this has chicken and carrots/sprouts/brocolli doesn't make it good either. Roast potatoes and yorkshire puddings aren't great, neither is gravy. Chicken skin is terrible but I agree it's amazing.

These aren't the worst meals in the world but they aren't great either mate. You're comparing them to really bad meals which has the effect of making them look good in your eyes when really they aren't.

Think of it as like comparing drinking 8 pints of lager to drinking 15 pints of lager. Yes of course it's better for you to drink 8 but is it actually good for you?
