Yep, like it a lot. Always enjoyed Cornwell's non-sharpe stuff. Over the years have got really interested in English history from the initial Danish invasions through to the Norman conquest so this hit's the sweet spot. could do with more breasts and pillaging tbf

It isn't as good as the books - but I think that's always the case Smiley

I think they've made a decision to slow it down and make it a bit more "serious", which makes a good quality TV show but I think it's somewhat unnecessary. There is plenty of room for the the TV version to contain a lot more drama while still making a good show. The person who did the adaptation (I think) is more known for contemporary fiction and I think it shows. It's a good show - but I think it could have been done better.

I'm not sure how many books this first series is based on - so there could be scope for the follow up series (if there is one/any) to ramp it up.

the tv series is just the first book, over 8 episodes (and i agree, its drawn out at an ethereal pace)

defintely room to serialise the rest of the books if the ratings justify

Probably mentioned on here before, but Fargo is a very good series if you like cops/crime type stuff.

First series was very very good, was really hooked. I hadn't seen the film so I had no idea what was going on with the message at the start of every episode - ploughed through it in 2 days to resist googling

This series ends December 14th so probably one for the train home for Xmas

I thought it was absolute nonsense. The whole premise is absurd and none of the actions of the people in charge make sense.

Don't get too into it, as it got cancelled (rightfully so IMO) Smiley
