Chris Waddle says David Beckham was 'good, but not great' and that 'he's not in the top 1000 since the seventies'

So who is the 1000th player of that period that is 'Better than Beckham'?

And who comes just below him in 1002nd?

Or is it just Waddle's sour grapes?
