Have always used CyanogenMod on my previous android phones as my ROM of choice, but it hasn't been available for the One X as a stable version for actual daily use.
Anyway, it is now so put it on my phone today. Wow, what a difference. The phone was alwayspretty qquick, but now it's like lightning. Incredible difference and so happy I took the time to do it today.
I dare not try it as I am not that good with these sort of things. It is the rooting part that scares me.

Nexus not supported by CyanogenMod 9 or 10 it appears, only up to 7. something. So I don't think that's Jellybean...
OK. Thanks

It took me 3 days, loads of frustration and some hair pulling to get through it. The biggest problem is the 'how to' information is in their techy language. I got a bit of help from Jack to keep me sane and it is doable, but it really is hard work if you've never done it before.

Why would I need to CyanogenMod my phone?
Did you not use the ROM Manager app Laxie?

I've an HTC Desire and internal memory is rubbish on those. Even if you move every app to the SD card, a certain amount of app data stays on the internal memory. I set up a partition on my SD card to trick the phone into thinking 2gb of the card was internal phone memory. I also did the S-off on the phone. That was an easy job. Rooting was easy once I knew how, but took aaaaages to figure out. Making the SD partition wasn't toooooo bad, but I was still caught on a few steps. Now the hard work is done, I can install any ROM I like, download whatever apps I like and the phone flies with no space issues.

I have no idea what you just said there
What does chaning ROMs (that should be a tv program!) do for you? Is it worth while? I was watching a youtube clip but it was half an hour long and to be honest, I'm not sure what it did! If it makes the phone work quicker I may be tempted.

The phone works MUCH quicker and can be used for much more too now that internal memory isn't an issue. Root it, partition the card and install a ROM. [ ] Easy peasy. That said, if I can do it...anyone can. I've saved the links to everything I found helpful on the subject and can send them to you if ya like.

Google apps having a sale. 25p apps that would normally cost lots more. Think they're changing the sale list each day during the sale, but don't quote me on it.

Wish someone would sort my Desire out... continually getting insufficient memory warning.
I spent ages this morning trying to free up enough memory to download AND install the Sky go app.
Finally get it installed, for it to tell me that it won't run on a rooted phone! Bastards!!!
