Hi All

Those who have spoke to me in Vegas will know the reason i haven't posted my WSOP ME report is i was so pissed at myself with the way i played one hand !

After making day 2 of both the $10,000 PLO and $2500 NL i was happy with the way i was playing and had noticed that this year in addition to the 1pm $1000 Supers and 4pm $500 Supers they were running a 9pm $2000 Mega Sat starting with 10,000 chips and a 30 minute clock , these were scheduled for Saturday to Wednesday .

I played the first one and with 24 seats available ended 5th chip leader, never in trouble . Sunday i played again and half way through took on an A8 utg all in with AJs in sb but flop was A 8 9 . Monday i had the day off ready for ME.

I had written out some rules , these included " do not play a hand out of position " obviously AA etc were not included.

I didn't get the best table draw , all around me were a sea of unknowns , however on my table in seat 5 was excellent French player Anthony Lellouche and in seat 10 the Barcelona EPT winner , i was in seat 8.

During the first level i 4bet wth AA , called a bluff with bottom pair and chopped a pot against a slow played AK holding the same hand, ending with 35,000.

In level 2 , blinds 100 200 , there was a raise to 525 and 3 callers , i was sb with A2h , pot was 2400 and 425 to call , even so i should have folded and kept to my game plan , i called and the BB raised to 2100 with 8000 behind , all folded to Anthony who called making the pot 6300 , it was 1575 to call exactly 4 - 1 and again i should have folded but didn't .

Flop was Q 2 2 , i bet out 2700 hoping to entice a raise with a well disguised hand , the bb folded and Anthony called , i ruled out AA / KK and probably QQ
as he would have reraised pre after the first two limpers but he could be slow playing AQ or have 99 to JJ , turn was a 7 and i checked expecting him to bet , he did , 4000 and i called , river was a T and i checked again , this time he bet 10,000 , now having called his bet on the turn , if he had AQ i would have expected a check so i wondered if he had caught the T , i still had 26,000 so could fold but i also knew Anthony is capable of making creative plays and may have been floating me with air on the flop and the turn and now had to represent on the river , i called to get the bad news , he probably would have bet any turn card but caught the perfect 2 outer . a 7 to go with his 77.

I lost on more pot with AKs with a 3 bet preflop and cbet that got raised and ended the level with 11,000.

I finally went out turning two pair against a pair and a flush draw , i bet 2100  , was raised to 4500 , and could have just flat called leaving me 6000 = 20 BB but i had him on top pair and felt that if the flush came he would represent it putting me on a tough decision so decided to get my money in in front and create a pot that would get me back in contention , unfortunately he rivered his flush.

It was about 5.30pm , i was gutted and angry at my play earlier with A2.

After dinner with Rob and Lawrence i decided to play the $2000 Mega again , there were 19 seats and with the average 32,000 i had 17,000 and QQ and called a 13,800 all in , the bb showed J5o saying i have an easy fold and the all in showed JJ and flopped the one outer , somehow from 3200 i won my second seat ! I also played the $1000 8am Turbo Mega super sat after no sleep and won a third seat.

I have therefore decided that to thank all my WSOP ME shareholders i will be playing the £2500 GUKPT Championship event in November and all their shareholdings will be carried forward to this event.

Cheers

Excellent TR Simon, & thank you for the kind gesture.

I know you feel bad about the WSOP, but I've seen players exit decent-structured Tourneys on the very first hand, AND get a rub-down from their mates for it, so all things are relative.
