I started tonight with a possitive attitude..Christmas shopping all done etc and decided to try my best in the $200 freerole on Blue Square. Gave it my all and got to say Im pretty pleased with the way I played. So Im down to the last 2 (this is where I usually crumble), I have had 5 second places in MTTs and I have yet to win one so I would like to know...did I play this wrong and how would you have played it ? Was it wrong to go all in with that hand?

you played it fine, the muppet got lucky

horrible call of your allin

and the all-in, well you are not passing to any bet he makes so you might as well see all the cards

Right move

Unlucky

OK i'll do it.

I think you played this hand very badly.

You have raised it up pre flop, fair enough, then your oppo has re-raised you for over half your stack and you call!!!

Having said that once the flop has come you cant get away from it, but neither can he.

I have learnt from past experiences that I clam up when HU and tend to get blinded away as no hand is good enough so to speak, so I was determined this wasnt going to happen but this was the first hand after 3rd got knocked out and wondered if maybe I was just too keen to see the end.

So K8 suited is a bad hand to call...if I hadnt have called I would have been running scared. I know he would have had me beat anyway

I would like to add that the guys chipstack had been up and down like a wh**es drawers as he had bluffed his way into the final table...does that make a difference?

Both hands are just in the top 20% of hands for heads up play according to Harrington.

In my opinion your preflop raise is fine, but both his re-raise and your call pre-flop are very, very aggressive. But if that was your strategy, then fair enough. Perhaps you should have lumped it all in at that point rather than calling, particularly if you had reason to believe he may be raising with nothing.

There is no way you can get away from this after the flop with 400k in the pot. The problem is, neither can he!

He is an aggresive player who was pot stealing at every oppurtunity but he could have had an ace, what I want to know is..assuming he did have the A was it wrong to go allin here. I have yet to learn pot odds etc and go by gut instinct.
