I am quite sure that IS the case, Grosvenor are very up to speed & compliant in these matters. But that's not my point.

I just think it is ridiculous, if indeed that is what the Gaming Board are saying, that reporting the "actual" result is not allowed! Only in England, eh?

The rediculous part i find is that you MUST leave the table to make a deal, and even then they will only pay the 'official' prize leaving you to pool the money and resplit it. I've seen someone who got a saver stand around for over an hour waiting for the end of a tourny to get his money!!!!!
As you've said before, WHO'S MONEY IS IT??

I thought you could only publish the official result, and then we've got the cardroom manager? Nightfly talking about deals which are not supposed to be acknowledged by casinos?Huh?

Just want to clear this one up.

the casino only pay me for 40 hours per week and for the rest of the time i consider myself a normal person in my own right Wink

as such the information which i posted on the forum should not be regarded as an official company line.

i am genuinely interested in the growth of poker in the uk and contribute to this forum as such. i had hoped to remain semi-anonymous on here but i guess the cat is out of the bag Shocked (maybe i should go into hiding)

i find these different interpretation of rules and directives just as confusing as the rest of you. But i think that on the whole forum readers want to know what actually happened rather than what should have happened.

Well said Nightfly, & all the Notts regulars really appreciate the continual efforts you are making to improve the product at Gala Notts. If you follow the example of Yogi & Wolfy at Blackpool & contribute to the Forums - giving us YOUR side of things - it can only be for the good of poker, you, us, & Gala.

Buy you consider yourself "a normal person".....now that's pushing it a bit....

The gaming board inspector for the Blackpool Area, or wherever his area is has repeatedly said to me. If you advertise a prize structure then that is what you have to pay. I disagree like I nearly always seem to do when he is allowed to speak to me. Been over a year since he was last allowed down by the Casino Management.

But that is a different story. It didn't matter what was said to him he wanted the official prize structure paying out. So we do. Grosvenor introduced it across all casino's with the advent of television coverage etc. We don't mind you dealing but want the games playing to a conclusion. it is better for our advertising etc. We all know deals are done. And yes before you all say we wouldnt do deals if the payout structure was flatter I KNOW. I KNOW I KNOW. Try telling some in the Know that tho.

Nice post Yogi.

Flatter Prize Structures is one of my crusades - we gotta win ONE of 'em.... I mean, who does the Prize Money belong to? Don't start me off again.......

If comps have to be played to conclusion perhaps more of a case needs to be made for earlier starts. I'm talking about 7pm rather than 8pm and 9.30 is way too late to get started with 100+ runners in a rebuy.

I would rather not deal at all. If I'm at a table where I feel Im SIGNIFICANTLY out classed and I've gotten very lucky to have more than my share of chips based on ability then I'll take a chop but generally I'd be more inclined to play it out because I'm always trying to play in games where I'm not a massive under dog to start with.
