Get the job finished, Patrick.

And remember, position is key, & better be the raiser than the caller. Oh, & pairs are good, big ones.

Good luck Pads.

Good advice there from his teekness, you know it makes sense.

gl Pads

Jason Mercier raises all in for 56,000 from under the gun and it folds to Patrick Leonard in the hijack. Leonard calls and Chance Kornuth moves all in over the top for 240,000 from the small blind. The big blind folds and Leonard calls again.

Leonard:   JJ
Kornuth:   AK
Mercier:   A6

The board comes  6754T, keeping Leonard's two jacks in the lead. Mercier and Kornuth are eliminated from play and the field is now one elimination from the three-table redraw.

oooh, up to 6th, but close at the top.

Whilst I was at Keith Johnson's table, one of the oddest "rulings" I have ever seen went off.

First to act is dwelling. We don't know at this stage, but he has the effective nuts, he has the 10 on a board of A-10-10-3-3

Whilst he is doing his Hollywood stuff, the fella on the Button, who covers him (blue hoody, next to Keith) announces all-in.

10 man now asks what his options are - does that bet stand if he checks, does any bet he makes change the action?

Floor is called.

"What are my options?"

"You know the rules"

"Yes, but I want to be 100% sure before I act"

"You've been playing long enough, you should know"

"I'd rather you clarified it please, you should be able to tell me"

"I don't like to get involved, you have to decide what you do"

"Surely you should be obliged to clarify it?"

"Young man, I've been doing this job for 20 years, & I know what I may or may not tell you".

At this point, another players says to the Floor "can I tell him?".

"Yes, but it's not binding"

Yikes.

Anyway, 10 kid checks, hoodie man's "all-in" stands, & 10 kid calls. Hoodie nan had A--Q, & Floor then issued him a warning for acting out of turn.

Made a proper meal out of that, did Mr Floor.

Since when can you not ask for a clarification of the rules? Isn't that exactly what the dealer and floor staff are there to do? Pretty sure it's common practice in most places here, even though most players know the rule, to either call the floor anyway or for the dealer to state the rule so everyone knows what's going on.

Seemed utterly ridiculous to me, and you can see why 10 man wanted to be sure before he acted.
