I acquired at university, there were several people on my corridor callled Paul so it got confusing and everyone got nicknames. I listened to "Manu Chao" a bit in the first week and he has a catchy tune titled "bongo bong" (it's about a drum playing monkey Huh?). Anyway several of the lines in the Chorus are variations of "king of the bongos". So I got called "king of the bongos" or "bongo guy" etc, eventually shortened to bongo. It stuck and everyone calls me bongo, even my boss.

And no I can't play the bongos, closest I can do is playing Donkey Konga.

In the early 80's  I was a union rep in a small firm. It was the time of "red robbo" etc and one of my workmates tagged me redsimon as I was always on my soapbox Grin. It sort of stuck. Plus I follow the "reds" Nottingham Forest Roll Eyes

Everyone have such amazing stories about their nicknames. So mine is:

S for Strong
I for Interesting
G for Genius
75 for the number of millions I have made on poker.

*sigh*, nope, my christian name is Sigbjorn, hence the shorter version 'Sig', and yep, I am born in 1975...

Many Ex-American Football players on here. Very strange. I used to play years and years ago in my youth. Played in every single position throughout the years except for Quarterback. That was too hard for me. As I got fatter I got into lazier positions. HEHEHEHEHE.

Played for Fylde Falcons, and Lancashire Wolverines and had a tryout for the England team, which due to my stupidity as a youth, I never went to.

Y Yogi Bear tho. I don't know?Huh?Huh?? just thought it might start conversations.

It didn't.

I was given the name of The_Brief because of my job. I now spend time on the internet, and sometimes card rooms, giving back to the card playing community the Legal Aid money previously paid to me by the Government, God bless 'em. As you see I don't use it all of the time.
