Interesting stuff you say there Paul about the various types of Chinese in the uk. IMO the Chinese community are one of the immigrant groups that have got it spot on in the uk. On the whole they mostly just get their heads down, keep a lowish profile, work hard to earn a crust and get on with life without any fuss.

If you compare that to other nationalities/religions who are often seen to be kicking up a fuss about their rights, what they want and generally being a pain in the ass to the locals then it's no contest between who the locals are gonna like more. I can honestly never remember anyone saying anything bad about the Chinese in the uk.

Also Chinese are always pretty nice and respectful, even the younger ones. Once again if you compare that to the attitude of the younger people of other races that's not always the case. Even though some of those are from races/nationalities that are taught to respect their elders as much as the Chinese are.

Rule number one for successful immigration is don't piss off the locals, the Chinese have never  done that.

Paul - that already seems pretty interesting and I'm keen to hear more.

I do think you can come across like an idiot on the forum (a very harmless and loveable one) but having met you a few times and spoken to you a lot online I know you're not.

Why do you think you weren't popular at school?

Are a lot of your friends irl chinese?
If yes, why? Why are chinese so insular?

I dont keep in contact with anyone from school or uni. maybe my fault for not putting any effort into seeing friends or spending time with them.

dont have many friends but most of them are chinese.

I think chinese are so isolated is because of their upbringing, a lot of parents will not accept ppl who could tarnish their family name such as socialising with other people could spin the rumour mill amongst the community. or your wasting time when u should be studying or practicing their musical instrument.
My Grandma will kill me if i ever got with or marry a black girl.

But generally there are 4 types of chinese
1. BBC( British born chinese) with controlling parents
2. BBC with relaxed parents
3. Overseas rich
4. Overseas poor

groups 3 and 4 generally are the most isolated amongst the chinese. The over seas always stick together because they are too lazy to try and interact in english plus they find it difficult to speak and understand it easily.
The poor overseas ppl are normally there to study and their family has saved up for a long time for there kids to go study in the uk and they dont want to disapoint their parents by failing

group 1
most likely their parents own a chinese/ chippy or a restaurant
They want their kids to do something so they can show off to their friends. Thats why most chinese try learn the piano or violin, go to uni become accountants/doctors

Group 2
are like ppl like me. My family are not ultra sucessful but we are happy but we dont really care about other peoples opinions that much just wanna be self-sufficient. But still fork out for number plates and louis vuitton shit

Its all about status for chinese.

this is all my point of view btw

Your Parents/family sound top people, this is enough

if anyone has any questions pls ask

Paul I have a few friends that know you personally and they all say that you are a really good bloke.

I only know you as someone who makes a lot of really banal and frankly pretty inane posts which come across as being lazy because most of your silly questions could be answered in a few seconds on google. Paul Phillips used to describe posts such as this as merely "noise" on his extempore blog.

It's almost as if you are using the forum to think out aloud and engaging post mode before your thoughts have been adequately processed. Why do you do this?

I just post what ever comes first in my head without thinking things through. I am normally playing poker and dont spend alot of thinking time on blonde.Prob a huge leak

In real life  I am alot lot different. I am kinda reserved and kinda slow. I think i process information pretty slowly and if i say what i think ppl would just laugh at me. whereas online i cant see ppl laugh at me so i just post what i think.

I am really lazy also

Have I met you before Kara?
