Tikay said i should post this as a topic for discussion and he may even have it on his blog/diary when he wakes up today.
Ok we are on the final table 8 handed of the Face to Face main event at Southend last night  (lol only 14 runners) when the following hand occurs:-
Tikay limps for 300 in MP and the C/o raises to 1500, i make it 3500 to go OTB with  and Tikay gets out of the way  C/o calls and we see a flop of    C/o checks and i lead for 4000 and get called turn is  and C/o bets 6000 leaving himself 12000 back, i ship it for 13k total and he dwells.
The other player is one of my oldest poker buds and we would never soft play each other and always fight for chips, my image is completely LAG and prob been most active on table. I know he cant fold really as played and early on the final table i had to put my headphones on as the player to my immediate right was doing my nut in chatting but i'm not listening to music jus trying to stop him talking and i have already texted my bud to let him know this, with all the hubub in the casino i decide to say "good call" and go to turn my hand up whilst taking my headphone out and the dealer looks at me and says he didnt say anything to which i said i thought he said call.
My bud looks at me and says i was going to call anyway and does flipping    drawing dead to which Tikay is in histerics.
Anyway what i wanted to know is does everyone feel as long as your not breaking any rules its ok to do waht you can to get someone to call you and also what other MOODIES have you come accross in the past.

Obv the poker gods dissaprove as 6 handed i get it in with AK v AQ and we flop KKJ  10 9  GG me leaving Tikay IMO a massive favourite against the remaining players (am sure if he TID he will let us know).
PS i was party to Tikay's yearly bluff with    so anyone on a table for the next 6 months with him its pretty safe to assume he has the bottom end of his range with .

Pretty scummy thing to do, why would you be saying good call anyway when you have the nuts?  Apart from purposely being a **** or angleshooting? (If he's your mate and you regularly wind eachother up then fair enough)

This happens all the time and in cash games and comps down here there is lots of angle shooting, at the break Tikay even said i know you would not have done that if it was not against your mate and most people who know me would know i am not a strokey player.
Was interested in what peoples views on angleshooting were and what they have come up against in the past?

I have to say, in general terms, normally, I'd abhor this sort of thing. Weirdly, in this case, I thought it was fine.

The 2 players are long-tem good mates, & had been messing about with each other, as mates do, the entire evening, raising & re-raising each other with air, & spite calling. The reaction of T-T man said it all, & I really don't think any offence was intended, or taken, by either of  the 2 guys.

It was all very friendly the entire evening, & I just think this was 2 mates messing around.

My amusement came from how slick Mr Eso pulled it, & the timing of moment, as he started to remove his headphones, & he said "good call". Unfortunately, I knew even before T-T man called, what Eso had done, & burst out laughing, which I thought may have given the game away.

Cheeky Kev O''Leary often tells the story of how he did this in a Tourney, & he tells the tale so well, it seems funny, despite being, really very edgey.

It's 100% a really dodgy moody, I think, but in this case, it seemed, to me, in the context of everything, OK.

I think if he tried it on me, I'd muck in a flash!

I really don't think Eso would dream of doing this against anyone except a close bud. He's a good guy. Moody, but good.....

After you departed, I was coasting, & I raised it with Tens, & the guy to your left (a dead ringer for Action Man, though younger, better-loooking, & slimmer), jammed his 10 Bigs with Aces, & I had to look him up, ship the 8-9-J-A-7 board. He was NOT impressed! He had stood up when the cards were flipped & BEGGED the hand to hold, "PLEASE don't outdraw me, PLEASE". He was absolutely mortified, poor chap.*

As he left the Table, the guy to his left suggested something for 4th, (3 paid), & the other two both chipped in & said "why not chop it up?". As the TD had said we'd have to return today unless we finished in that Level, (it was about 4am), I was happy enough, as I did not wish to come back today. They started to negotiate, I was the chippy, I just said "even chop, let's go home". And we did, £1,050 each. I'll take that any night, & the mocking that goes with it. . (None of us had less than 40xBB's). Flushy will be right proud of me.

* I collect the cash, & leave immediately. A-A man was in the car park. "What happened?" he asked. "We chopped it" I say. "You ******* bastards!" he said.

Still, I managed my annual bluff against you last night with 2-3, I'll settle for that. I actually tried two, but I bottled the other one when you shoved & showed A-K. If only I could have made that Hero Call with my 3-4, I'd have died a happy man, but I'm such a wimp.

Despite the mini-field, I really enjoyed the evening, it was very relaxing, exactly what I needed. I'm probably the only player who actually enjoys uber-small field sizes, it adds a certain intimacy & bonhomie. And are easier.....

I thought about playing the main event, but after hearing about the poor turnout on the Friday decided to give it a miss. Instead, I played the £40 freezeout at the Mint Casino, but we won't talk about that any more...  Did Mr Litman turn up, he is normally a reg at the Southend Festivals.
