Lazy , Hazy days

Arrived at DTD Saturday morning to see a packed car park, awesome,it had been a while since i had played poker, live or online, and i was really looking forward to this weekend.
My chauffeur Nakor and myself had a pre tourny drink and settled down to play.He departed fairly early as per usual  Grin and decided to join two other bustees Evilpie and StuHopkin at the bar. After partaking of a few beverages they decided to hit the town,so i arranged to ring Matt, when i busted or at the end of days play,as i was staying at his house.
The tournament went pretty well, ending the day about 10k under average at 50k after losing 30k late in the last level after calling two short shoves and failing to hold.
I sent a text to Matt asking which bar he was in and was surprised that after 15 minutes i had no reply. Plan B....i texted Dan (Kinboshi) asking for Matts address.intending to make my way there.Dan didn't reply either  FML.There were not many faces i recognised in the building but just as i was going through my options ,i was saved by the phone ringing..
"Hiya bud,it's Matt,we are in the Wheelhouse at Woolaton.Adam went back to his hotel early,he said he felt unwell but i think he is just a lightweight.Get a taxi over here."

Fifteen minutes later im at the bar listening to a couple of drunkards explaining that i had just missed a 16 glass Jaegertrain. We managed to talk Mr Hopkin into doing an 18 glass train(to be fair,he doesn't need a lot of coersion where alcohol is involved  Cheesy )  Im sure Mr Pie will upload the video.
Although my residence for the night was only a five minute walk away,we had to have a taxi.I'M not sure how +EV longterm the tactic of standing in the middle of the road and jumping in front of oncoming taxis forcing them to stop is,but hey,it worked that night.
Back at Matt's,and after passing the Ronnie test,we chilled for a while before hitting the sack.

I am awoken about 9am by a text,from Dan.
"Just seen your text, did you get to Matt's ok ? "
My fingers seemed to have a mind of their own as they typed out a reply..
"I'm in a park.Slept night on bench.Im cold,tired hungry.Matt can go fk himself."
"i'll come and get you.You can have some grub here and then i'll take you to DTD "
The phone then rings and it is Dan asking if there are any landmarks or roadnames...i give him the name of the road directly opposite my bedroom window(he says,oh,you are not far from Matt's  Cheesy )..and wait.
20 minutes later and Dan rings again.."where are you? "
"What car do you have"
"mini"
"up here  hahahaha"
After swearing at me and waving,he [   ] wished me luck for the tourny, and departed.

Refreshed by a nice walk through the park and some caffeine i settled down to play some pokerz.
Things didn't go well, and i found myself down to 4bbs when a shorty shoved utg and i reshoved with 33.His K 10 rivered a straight prompting him to bang the table.I told him to show a bit of class and while he stacked my chips i shoved blind.Folded round to Mr Banger and he folds K high and laughs when i flip KQ.
Manage to chip up,helped by shoving 97 black into bb QQ. Once the 7 flopped, the 9 was always gonna hit. From 4bb with 120 left,i was now able to pick my spots as the bubble approached.Cutoff raises on the bubble,Mr Tablebanger moves allin,i find QQ in sb and the banger is no more...Karma is a bitch.

A young aggro lad with a mountain of chips arrives two to my right and after i raise 3 times in one orbit,i sense that he wants to play back at me.I raise 10 10 and he repops from the sb.I call and when he leads the 9 high flop i stick it in his eye.

I hand in my 77th place card to the cash desk and head to the car park.

Many thanks to Nakor,Dtd,Matt(get some vegetables ! ),Stu for a great weekend. Was also good to catch up with some familiar faces.A special thanks to Dan for taking my prank in good spirit.

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

Very few pass the Ronnie test.

Congrats on surviving that one.

Sigh.  I asked where he was, and he gave me a street name very close to Matt's.  I assumed Matt had not come back and Boo had headed there after DTD shut and hadn't been able to get in, so instead had found somewhere to sleep and wait for Matt to come back.

I thought this can't be much fun, and that I'd do the decent thing and pick him up so he could shower and have something to eat before he took down the Grand Prix.

I get there, and couldn't see him, thinking to myself "I hope this isn't a wind up" and "No, it can't be - the fact he's told me he's right near Matt's house means it couldn't be".  Then I see the gorgeous Juliet tattooed arm, unmistakable gold locks and webbed-fingers of boo waving from the first floor window at Matt's I realise I've just driven quarter of an hour for no reason (other than to get Lyndsey's birthday card and fill up with petrol).

Great report and Dan despite being stitched up- shows what a great guy Dan Kinboshi Phillips really is

Does it really though?

Imo the answer to the above question would be no.
