If we did this at other positions Chelsea would be way stronger though I admit forwards are more important.


Just not sure I agree with this.  Terry is half the player he was 3+ years ago and he was never particularly fast.  Lampard and Essien don't seem to be what they were.  Theyn don't have much depth and the stars with the possible exception of Drogba and Cole all seem in decline to me.

Essien on the decline ?? Level surely.I think Terry's importance has been showing by how poor they've been at the back without him yet they looked unbeatable at the start of the season.

Agree with a little of this but this is a quality issue not a depth issue. I'm talking about the quality of players between squad number 11 and 20 odd. A bench containing some of:

Ivanovic
Bosingwa
Mikel
Benayoun
Anelka
Kalou
Ramires (big fee but looks pants)
Hilario
Zhirkov

Is stronger than the vast majority of benches - except maybe City.

I think he will be amazing in a year or so. Got to get used to the strentgh of prem players.
