The key part to dom's post was this imo:
'even tho its obv unfair on the other table'.
That's exactly the reason why you should tell the dealer.
Complaining about paying juice/a reg fee is fine when you're getting poor service but this does not mean you shouldn't say anything.
I kinda agree with yr high morals, but it really aint up 2 vinny to do ppls jobs for them.
Oh and wd vin nice result m8,
It's not really about 'high' morals Dom. It's about protecting the game and.
I'm surprised that a full time poker professional like yourself wouldn't tell the dealer.
Feels like a small angle to me.
Dont try winding me up greeky!
Ive always told the dealer in such situations, just dont see
WHY
i/vin/any1 should have 2. Seriously tournament staff need to do their jobs better in such instances, i really see no excuse for 15 mins+ odd of a level getting missed out.
It's not your job to tell the dealer. If you didn't know the blinds had gone up, then it's not your duty to check or your duty to ask about it.
If you happen to know the blinds are up and you're not saying anything about it, then you're gaining an unfair advantage on the other table, which isn't right.
The right way to handle the situation is to tell the dealer about the blinds and then complain to the GUKPT tour rep about the situation, not keep schtum for your own benefit over the other table.
Not winding you up at all btw - just being greeky honest. Feels like you're either playing devil's advocate or really ought to know this already.

Met The Camel at the vic tonight, he finalled the £500, was chip leader with 4 left, and finished 4th. It appears he done a Vinny spew, I set the trend, the others follow
He obviously brought me some luck! Didn't manage to nip him for a few quid at the cash desk as he collected his winnings though. Must try harder.
As soon as he got knocked out, the other 3 flattened the payouts, and played on for another 2 hours or so. Think seat 10 won it Keith if you're interested.
Nice to meet you Vinny.
Sorry I wasn't in a more garrulous mood. Throwing away the chance to win £12k does shuts a bloke up sometimes.
Congrats your choppage.
Mis-read, obv
My reads were out all day.
Lost half my chips calling a geezer with Ace high when he had quads.

Of crse i know all this, its just annoys me that it's often our job to mention these things to the dealer, happens so much its unreal.
Tbh however unfair it sounds, ill make an effort in future not to bother about what the clock is in such situations, thus ill take advantage of it without having angled anyone.
Ill just be playing my own game and letting those who should be running the tournament-run it. Why should i be running over to check another tables blind levels or the actual clock level, i'll just play by what im told, surely other players have the ability to notice other things too right? Or should i be running over and telling them not to open limp cos its meh??
Not being arsey btw i just think maybe yr policing a bit too much in such situations if this happens regularly, and actually it will be -ev for you to get involved, as you'll be thanked by nobody-in fact perhaps even moaned at, and obv we want the comp deep v donks all day long.
Told a dealer a week or 2 back the clock had gone up, he actually seemed annoyed id told him, when i asked him to inform the other table so, he cldnt be arsed. Lovely! I do agree its unfair on the other table tho mate, and yr correct in this.

The blinds/clock error.
I agree with every single word, & the sentiment behind, Cos's Posts on it.
Spot on.
Cardroom staff are human beings, some of them are as decent human beings as we poker players are. It's a little churlish not to forgive them an error from time to time. Cardroom Dealers seem to have become as fashionably unpopular as Traffic Wardens, Tax Inspecters, & Policeman. It makes no sense to me, but nor do lots of things these days.

This is a problem I can't remember having encountered and I've played enough comps. It's obviously a regular occurrence for you Dom though I don't see how it changes anything.
It's not your job to check and not checking is fine obv, but if you do know of a poor service then you really ought to speak up imo.
I couldn't give a shit about some small amount of EV but I do give a shit about a fair playing environment.
If you're playing in venues where this is a problem, you should be taking the problem higher up, not ignoring it because of your 'EV vs donks'.

Don't disagree with the above.
In a vacuum my stance sounds way 2 anal.
Its just a real peeve of mine, it seems to happen all the time, i just don't think it's fair that it's almost our job to do their job sometimes, especially when we are playing for a great deal of money.
But apparently if we don't say something, when we 'know' then we become a villain and the angle shooter. We are just human beings too, and for some of us this is our job, one mistake by us could mean less money for bills next month etc.., we aren't getting paid no matter what.

Warning this cld go on all day, i don't give up on a debate, and i know yr not exactly shy in giving yr opinion
Ok lets try and wrap this up.
Ok so we agree it aint my job to ck, so i wont ck again in such a situation again, wiiii.
You dont give a damn about a small amount of ev, fine its not yr job why shld you?
Tbh i dont really care about this ev matter, was just an example of part of what u lose when u speak up.
Like yr safe environment analogy- i agree on this.
Of crse ive gone higher up and explained these problems, hasnt changed anything and wont, they dont see it as a big problem.
I guess it isnt really.

All the more reason to speak up if you see something amiss?
If you were on the Table which was being DISadvantaged, would you mention it then, or stay schtum, & accept the disadvantage?
Not much in life is perfect, I don't think it's a big deal that we forgive the occasional error, & do the right thing.
I understand your point, & I usually walk a mile in tight shoes to avoid conflict in cardrooms, or on blonde. But I just thought Cos had nailed it, exactly the right line & tone. And I don't often agree with him, so it was a sort of celebration, wiiiiiiiii!

It really irritates me when someone just goes through the blinds and when it's his button announces "I think the blinds should have gone up 65 minutes ago"
That is little better than cheating imo.
