Aye i met my Mrs family in Estonia in the summer who didn't speak a word of the queens and i speak about 20 words of Estonian. I don't know about Russian, but with Estonian my mouth just doesn't seem to go the right shape to make the sounds, so i think im making the right noise but they all just laugh at the fat English bloke. The bastards weren't laughing when I ate half the countries supply of meat and drank them under the table.

Yeh can definitely relate about the sounds, some of the sounds I just can't say properly. There's a letter in the alphabet that's written like this b| which is like a really harsh e sound which I really struggle with.

I was learning a lot of french last week which I love speaking and hearing and that's another language I wanna improve this year. Did a bit of russian, now learnt numbers up to one billion I think lol.

So annoying that 10,20,30,40,50 etc and 100,200,300 etc all have slightly different beginnings and endings. Why can't it just be a simple system like other languages lol.

Back to Barcelona tomorrow, two more weeks there then moving out. Straight to Deauville, then Nottingham for the UKPC.

Here's a fun question for you grammar guys. Don't post the answer straight away if you've heard it before.

There's a legitimate way in the English language that the same word can be used ELEVEN times in a row! What is it? Obviously context and punctuation are necessary.

...meanwhile, if we are into grammatical oddities, here's one that went a bit wrong, stolen from Mr Channing's Twitter feed.

The context: So Alex and Mark were doing an English exam. One question was a fill in the blanks jobbie. The question was "We were soaked through, we _____ enough".

The sentence...

Fuck

Just proved this when I hit my thumb with a hammer, and for clarity I tried using it 12 times but that was just over the top.

Alex, where Mark had had 'had', had had 'had had'; 'had had' had had the higher mark.

this also works with police.

If you take the string 'police police police police police police police police' and add any multiple of 3 'police's then you have a valid sentence.
