Just wanted to say I much enjoyed your DTD Tourney Report Alex. The hand plays don't interest me so much as this sort of thing.....

6.4k is a great result considered how short I was all tournament, and the number of times I was allin at risk must have been over 20, probably called 10 times, and won every single time except the final one. I had the best hand almost everytime, but still, I'm not supposed to win everytime!

So although it's always disappointing not to win, and to go out on a 70/30 I'm actually pretty happy with the 6k as I think the way the cards went 95% of the time I bust before the money, 3% I mincash and 2% 8th or better.

It brings a smile to me to see such honesty & humility. I think how we handle wins & losses is a great judge of someone's character. I'm not in the least interested in how unlucky we were, how big our cock is, or how lucky the villain got. Genuine self-appraisal & humility beats misplaced arrogance all day & night.

Definitely agree with this 100%. Same with Dan Morgans report for the Heads Up. Its really nice to see people getting positives from a result that, for anyone else, would have been disappointing.

Exactly. Realistic wins every time, but it a rare commodity. Everyone else crushed but got unlucky because the idiot called us.  Jeez, that does my head in!

DTD Degens have struck so much fear into the eyes of our opponents in this league that this week, they didn't even turn up. So we played a friendly against some random team that were there.

We won 16-8. I wasn't keeping track of how many goals I scored, but the referee informed me that it was 4, after awarding me the "Man of the Match" award.

Felt like a day off poker today, but couldn't keep totally away - went to DTD around 1am for a fun 1/2 game. DTD have got a policy midweek now of closing at 3.15 if there's less than four cash games running, even if the tournament is still going! Tonight there was 2 50/1 and one 1/2 game, and the comp was still going on, but they called last three hands at 3am and the people in the comp had to chop it. Glad I was wining as can imagine it's pretty frustrating for those losing trying to get out of it. I guess it's just not profitable for them to keep the club open with less than 4 cash tables open. Hmmm.

Doubled up off Keith in the penultimate hand of the night with AK vs his Kx on K957 in a 3bet pot. Nice to win those, usually Keith hits a 4 on the river in those spots vs me with his K4s. He's having a hard time against me recently, since I did a £1200 bluff on him yesterday and showed a 3, but he's pwning Mitch lately with TWO double pot bluffs last night for >£1k showing him both times, so it's swings and roundabout really.

My World Series auction finishes tomorrow (thursday) night at midnight so last chance to bid on that if you haven't already.

Cos Will Fry lost his shirt and the other guy was a one-off stand-in and didn't have a kit.

Yesterday we had a full team kitted out repping DTD, the other team were like "Jeez the guys have got a sponser, 3 subs, two fans" (Andy's Mum, Lynn was watching!) "and a manager!" (pointing at Keith) was so comedy.

Bad MTT session, bricked everything more or less by about midnight and headed off to DTD to find a surprisingly full 1/2 without any regs in!

Don't remember ever seeing that midweek before, things are looking up. It wasn't a big game, but everyone had 400 or 500 which made for a really good game.

I ran golden too. There was a hand where someone limped on my straddle and I had . When I'm oop to the limper, 99% I just check here, see a free flop and get on with it. No reason to do anything else (esp as this guy was limp/folding 0%). But for some reason I decided I'd like to have the initiative in this hand, and make the pot bigger as we were 250bbs deep so if I hit big I could win a big pot. It's fine I guess but I just check there almost everytime. I decided to make it £15 and then proceed to flop a flush, bet big, big and then 1.5x potted the river (experimenting with the overbets atm) and got paid.

So there's the obvious run good in flopping a flush, but the invisible rungood of me randomly deciding to do something out of the ordinary and it working out incredibly well for me.

I was winning about £900 in a two hour session, which I was very happy with, and then penultimate hand of the night, I get 66 in a 3bet 3way pot on TT3, villain bets flop 1/4 pot. I call IP. Turn obviously a 6, he bets £25, I raise to £100 he snaps. River Ace, he tank checks, I shove for £450 effective into about £300, he snaps with Tx. What a life. 2 nights in a row I've won big pots in the penultimate hand of the night. So won £1500 for the session Smiley

Which nicely brings me to quite a sick milestone - £100k profit since I started playing for a living in October 2010. I'll happily take that for the next 20 months!
