What kind of things do you do to improve your game? Almost entirely talking to good players about hands, lines etc. My closest friends are all good, winning players and we're constantly talking through things together. I freeroll great advice from sickos whilst having nothing to give back We learn a lot from each others strengths.

Posting on PHA helps too.

Do you think that your missing out, because you don't play online (i.e massive tourney gtds etc) Yes, definitely. DTD does put on some amazing tournaments with massive guarantees but I agree it doesn't compare to online. I'll play the odd series of massive tournaments (scoop, wcoop, ftops etc) but at the moment its all live live live. I've written here before all the reasons I prefer live to online so won't repeat all that.

Bit personal, but what did you start with? I was broke in september and spun £100 into 3.5k in like 6 weeks playing 1/1 and dropped out of uni with that. Not much I know...

If you were to win the dtd deepstack, and then lose discipline and control, and end up irioning the money in quick succession, would you go back to what you were originally doing (50p/1£) before, would you just give up totally? I don't know which of those things is less likely to happen lol. I'm really not the type to lose control and spunk away money. But if I ever went broke I wouldn't have a problem grinding it out again playing 50/1 or even smaller online if I had to.

(sry 4 the grammer lol )  dw im rele not a grammar nazi! [ ]

Awake after 3 hours sleep again. Constantly seem to be waking up at 10am these days and not be able to sleep again and having to power through the night with red bull and pro plus. Can't be healthy. Doctors for sleeping pills? Keep it clean this time pls, not that I didn't take all the cocaine and stuff last time I asked for sleep-related advice, it's just my mum reads this Wink

Didn't really like the G in Sheffield to be honest. Staff and locals pretty unfriendly. Instantly got rubbed for having a posh accent (fml), and labelled "just some rich student" or something as soon as I sat down which was all pretty lol tbf. The place was badly managed and organised, only two cash tables running when there was at least enough interest for 3 or 4. Strangely was really hard to get chips. Everyone kept passing the buck (cashiers, croupiers, poker dealers, floor staff) and it meant loads of cash on the table which always tilts me. I did really like the bar/lounge area, thought that was pretty swanky. Very tilty local accent too. Imo Birmingham>Nottingham>Sheffield so far.

+1 to everything bar the local accent. I played there a few times when I was in Sheffield last summer. Much, much preferred the cash games at Napoleons Owlerton (whose cash games seemed to be outsourced to some locals and were ridiculously good value with bargain session fees and no rake) even though the venue itself is a dive.

quality read Alex, just found this and read it all in one sitting while sitting in some really boring games.

excited to hear about any more 2/5 shots, in particular many instances of stacking the Mitch.

how do you percieve the skill difference in the 0.5/1; 1/2 amd 2/5 games?

i dont understand how I won. This is Mitch. He said good call but I was still expecting him to get there somehow. Think he had KQ or something but still expecting him to find a way to win. I run good.

ged

pretty impressive session to grind all that out! er 50/1 at DTD has actually gotten a fair bit tougher imo. Most tables have 4 or 5 young guys who are nitty and not good but switched on and don't give it away like they do at gala. 1/2 is very varied. often really soft and gambly. always tough spots in the game as that's where the decent regs sit when there's no 2/5+. 2/5 is full of solid regs and there's never more fish than regs in a game. Often there's 4/5 regs all playing to stack one fish. Guess this is similar to online.
