Urgh just bubbled the comp at DTD Sigh. Made final table but only 7 paid and got 15bbs in with AK vs 88 for chip lead pot. A bunch of bricks and I was out in 9th. Could've done with a nice bink! Won a bowl on the 50/1 beforehand to freeroll the comp (thanks to an omaha flip, not any skill) so not losing for the day...yet! Gonna play 50/1 although the 1/2 did look ultra soft and quite a small game so might play that.

I was so pleased Habib was in the sml blind when you were on the button. He at least kept you honest so you could only push with the top 50% of hands.
At least you got to sit on the final table. Some sicko knocked me out in 10th with something like    ? Walk one time!!!!!

Isn't this the key to your table selection?  Play the .50/1 if there isn't a soft 1/2 game.  But if there's a 1/2 game available that isn't full of strong players playing deep with stacks that will take you out of your comfort-zone, then why not play it?

yeh course, but i'm not far off the point where even playing the small 1/2 games will be outta my roll. Had a good session last night though Smiley

So Tuesday night was sooooo good! Simon's backer, Tom, said he'd take us all to hooters to celebrate Simon's 24k bink (and his 12k share) so about 15 of us rocked up and did the standard hooters stuff - pints of beer, greasey chicken wings, even greasier attempts to hit on the waitress (I won't name names). Arrived early to get prime seats for the Barca Arsenal game which was great. Comedy sending off. Despite us celebrating Simon and Tom winning 12k each, Keith Johson ($25/50 reg on stars/FT) casually turns up and we discover he grinded out a cheeky $96k win online the day before, winning a 40k pot with KK vs JJ on 93456 4bet pot, bet, bet, shove. Pretty sick.

Simon's fioncee, Shola, was there and almost got scouted as a potential waitress. They mentioned something about having all the right credentials. Justyna the polish valet at DTD was there, and Josie, Ged's missus, but other than that it was all meattttttt! The usual suspects, JK, Stato, Mitch, SkolSuper, Ged (The Fallen).

Whilst we were waiting for taxi to take us into town, Mitchell obviously had to be a massive degen and stick a few quid on the fruity. Obviously snapdrops the jackpot... We stopped off first at Walkabout which as always was dead and shit. Good for some cheap drinks though, and JK dropped the jackpot on another fruity. The night was in danger in becoming lame so we went somewhere without fruit machines (thank god) and with more of an atmosphere.

I think the place was called Pandora's box, I'd never been before, but it was alright. A sort of underground cocktail bar with a small dancefloor. Was really good fun in there, Keys bought several bottles of Dom and we all got pretty crunk. Pulled out some of my best moves on the dancefloor. At about 3ish we unanimously decided not to go anywhere else and to go straight back to Tom's baller house.

It must've been his Mum and Dad's place as it was pretty ridic. Swimming pool, piano, big garden, big round dining table, bathrobs, many many bedrooms. I'm sure it had plenty of other ridic stuff but can't really remember it all. Obviously as soon as I saw the pool I had to get it. Sigh @ it not being heated - sure made my package look big. Simon had a good trick. I dunno what he shoved down there, but he turned up in the kitchen where everyone was hanging out, dripping wet, just in his boxers, which looked like they were concealing an almighty beast. He was like "what? what? what are you all looking at?!" Wp, sir.

I just snapped up one of Tom's (probably his Mother's) dressing gowns and chilled in that the rest of the night. Tom was a great host to be fair, and put up with everyone running about his house like animals (as if they weren't brought up in a house like that? :p)

We played football, my team won 4-1, JK took a massive hit for the team, some drunkard kicked him in the face as he went for a 50/50 challenge and thanks to his Harry Potter glasses, now has a massive cut accross the top of his nose!

Tom's piano was next centre of attention - had to bash out some classics for the crowd to sing along to. The video of our rendition of Angels is posted above, a timeless classic, not ruined in the slightest by Stato's beautiful voice. I think my taste in music was some way off to what the crowd wanted sigh, and the guitar became a more popular option. Was so much fun doing all that though. Played some guitar hero afterwards and a cheeky £20 SNG (obviously the night couldn't completely go without poker). We had 15bbs each and obviously we got it in most hands. Keiths a bit of a sicko, he shoved, Stato called and Keith said "ah its fine, he obviously has K9". Which he did. But being Stato he got there vs KT and went on to ship the lot. Fkn box!

At about 7am we rang for a taxi and headed back. Was honestly one of the funnest nights out I've had in a very long time. Can't remember laughing so much and having so much banter in one night. So happy for Simon, thoroughly deserves everything. Would love to be the reason for having an occasion like that in the future! Thanks very much to Tom for Hooters and having us round, and also to Keith and Keys for picking up the taxi tab. Sick night!

sounds comedy. Bit worrying that you're wanting your package to look big when you're at a house ful of dudes but each to their own
