DTD 500, Day two and three report.
I started day two with a decent stack, but couldn't win a hand and got bruised and battered down to 30k, shoved button the A6 a slighly shorter stack in the sb finds AT and holds. Down to 9k now at 1200/2400. Marv!
Next hand - dem Aces. Double up. Then 2 or 3 other double ups, back to half average. I got quite a few 3b shoves through to chip up a bit. Had a reasonably tough table with Dan Ward and Jack Allen there all day, but I actually found it easier playing against them though than the unknowns, knew where I stood all the time, whereas I struggled with players I was unfamiliar with - in particular Mike Hill. I don't know whether he has a read on me, but he seemed to own me every pot we played together, but maybe he just had it everytime but I got the impression that since he's been playing so long he does get pretty good reads and felt like he just owned me all day!
The pure bubbled lasted for ages, and I was definitely a big favourite to bust, being the only shortstack who was still shoving a lot.
I shoved 19bbs with

over the top of a Jack Allen open after Mike Hill had flatted, they both tank folded - that was a fun sweat. Then a similar sweat with 55, Dan Ward opened in MP, Jack peeled next to act, I had 21/22bbs in the bb and pilled, both tanked for ages and folded. Afterwards Dan said he had 77 and Jack said he had a medium pair too. I believe both tbh, so I dodged a bullet there!
Then I shoved over Jacks open with AJ, that got through, then over anon's open with AK (funnily enough, the villain with the set of threes in the Q5 hand from day 1!), he called with AQ and I had no sweat on the K high flop. That was a crucial double up there, would've been sick to lose that on the pure bubble.
Then I had a stack to have fun with on the bubble, and increased it from 275k to about 600k without showdown, some sick metagame on my table and I just had really good timing and everything went the way I wanted it to basically.
Lost ground to get to 300k at 5/10k, and aforementioned anon raised to 20k, I 3bet AQ to 48k and he set me in with JTo. In Marc Wrights words, he'd had enough of me. I called and held despite the KJx flop, T on the turn gave me the nuts and the river bricked. Back in it.
Dan Ward opened in early position on the big blind of Kelly who was ridic tight, and the sb was Pizzled who was playing very tight too, he also had all the chips so was opening loads so I felt his range was massive here. I had

on the button, I'd 3bet him the previous orbit and he'd peeled and c/raised 977 and I folded. I should've 3bet this time too since my hand is pretty poor and a good 3betting hand, but I didn't want to 3b fold such a good hand! It's the first time in the whole comp I'd got out of line with a fishy peel honestly! Anyway, decided to peel ip and he trippled barrelled

, which was a nice board run out for my hand and my incredible peel pre was rewarded with a big pot.
Value towned Kelly Saxby with A2 on A55K4 checking back the flop and betting turn small and river huge, she paid with a King, I used a similar line in a later hand with 87o on KK254 and she folded the river, yay. Up to a milli! First time (and last

) I was well above average all tournament.
Then I got coolered horribly in the biggest pot I played all day. Peeled an open from Jamie Burland with

in the blinds. Check called on

and lead a

turn, he flatted and then the river came one of the only cards I didn't want to see, the

. I checked and he barrelled really big. I have to call of course but wasn't suprised when he shows JJ. That was a big hit.
Took another hit calling a 11bb cutoff shove with KTo. Not sure about this one. It was from Andy Palethorpe, who I believe to be a pretty decent online player, knew jamie and had people on blonde rooting for him, so presumed he was good. I'd also heard him talking about 180mans as if he played a lot of them, so knew his ranges would be spot on. 11bigs from the cutoff includes most Kings, all suited Kings, quite a few suited Tens and QTo JTo, all that I crush. I'm flipping vs most pairs and crushed pretty rarely. I had 30bigs myself, so losing 11 would be pretty bad, but not disastrous, and the chance to knock out a good player, I went with it, and sadly lost to

.
Finished the day with 400k, going back to 12k/24k with 13 left, average stack 700k.
DAY THREE
Pretty uneventful day, had bottom 10% hands all day, except for AK twice and AA. Managed to ladder to 6th when I lost AK<KJ for an average stack vs Fraser.
6.4k is a great result considered how short I was all tournament, and the number of times I was allin at risk must have been over 20, probably called 10 times, and won every single time except the final one. I had the best hand almost everytime, but still, I'm not supposed to win everytime!
So although it's always disappointing not to win, and to go out on a 70/30 I'm actually pretty happy with the 6k as I think the way the cards went 95% of the time I bust before the money, 3% I mincash and 2% 8th or better.
Really happy with how I played all weekend. I've never been shortstacked for so long, just grinded so so hard for 3 days straight and my patience and disicpline paid off.
