Good stuff George.

I hate it too when people give a running commentary at the table.

So the table has broken during the break and I find my new table. James browning to my left as well as Mark McClusky. I get told it's a nice civilised game. Through some bravado I joke about changing that. Realistically I have 18 bigs and will be grinding like the rest of them. It folds to me in the c.off and I have 44. Online I may jam here or probably just fold. Live, even out of this stack I believe I can raise fold without worry. So I make it 1700 at 400/800/100 with around 10k behind. Again people may question this and say it's really bad. Just think that some online players don't realise the nuances of the live game. it's ok to take some exploitable lines live on certain tables. Then come a 3 very eventful hands. The Bedi Big Dipper in action (no not that one)

I then get dealt AQ in ep and am stacking off here. I open again to 1700 and button 3 bets to 4100. Don't love the spot but I jam. he asks how much it is. Great! I'm not crushed anyway! He calls with 88 and I flop a Queen and turn an ace. I double to around 36k. Couple of hands later James Browning mins it utg playing 15k total. I know he's quite solid so am not messing about. I look down at jacks and move in. He calls AQ and an ace on the flop sees me back to 25k. Very next hand young decentish guy who I haven't played much mins button playing 16k. I have 33 and decide to just jam. James, with his newly acquired stack wastes no time in moving his chips in behind me. Shit. In turbo speed and a blink of an eye the button has the call any button clicked and his chips are now in the middle.

I know what you're thinking. Cos I am thinking the exact same thing,.... both have AK one time? James has QQ and the guy on the button has Aces. OK. Simple really. The dealer decides that the door card is the  three clubs Corr kept me waiting didn't you? I now have 65k. Skill game.

I knock Mark Mcluskey out with 99 vs 22 on a 6444 board and then play a couple more defining hands which would be me up to 100k and then back down to 65k. We get fresh blood in seats 1 and 6. Seat 1 opens utg to 3k at 500/1000. We both have about 85k at the start of the hand. I look down at QQ and decide to flat. I have no info on this guy and am happy to take a flop IP. On this table I'm pretty sure we won't go multi way and I have James behind me who is quite short. Sure enough he jams. It folds round to villian who announces "I'm calling whatever it is...." Looks at me..... "And if you raise I'm calling" Wow. Thanks for telling me I have the best hand. I snap announce "Make it 30k" He puffs out his cheeks "call" WTF? So now we have a pot with 69k in it (James had 9k). I have 55k back and I have abso no idea what this guy has. Board flops A68! TY for the ace pokerstars. He checks I check. 10 on turn. Check Check. 6 river. We get to showdown. James has tens and matey has jacks. I am both relieved and a little bit regretful about perhaps not shoving pre. Who knows tho- he may have folded.

I play a hand with said villian again who wasn't happy with me cos he said I should have re raised with QQ when 2 people limp- he limps c/off and I make ir 4800 with KJ on button and he decides to be the only passenger. I c bet Q65ss board and he tank calls. I'm barrelling a lot of turns here cos it feels like he has some sort of marginal pair. The turn pairs a 6. I still may barrell here against certain players but this guy was after blood so I gave up and checked. The river could save me. Pls! Nope. A deuce on the river and his 33 wins.

I then lose A7 to a 11bb shove who has 99 when I open hijack. I'm a little disappointed about coming back with that after being over 100k but at the same time I could have been out the door a few times so overall was delighted. Dan had managed to spin to 40k too so we were both delighted that we'd made day 2. If I had thought day 1 had been eventful, it had nothing on day 2!

Unlucky george played well and really enjoyed playing with you

p.s
I'm still not going to play too many pots. Rudling jnr is running the show and I'm happy to let him think he is. I'm just letting him. At this stage I've decided I'm going to wait for a hand to 3 bet him and let him level himself. MWAHAHAHAH. Like the riddler in batman he's going to be so confused he's going to spazz with A10 when we finally get it in. poor lad. Has no idea what I have in store for him.

never happening lol

So we get back to the hotel at around 2.30ish and re tell our tales of hands. Dan and I are chatting more and more about lines we take, sizing etc etc and it's really helping both our games. I've not really had anyone to talk to at big comps since he who must not be named left the poker scene. I think, just as in this report, I'm brutally honest about how I've played some hands and it's good to get some perspective from another good player.

I watch the big game on my lappie as the free wireless at the hotel is decent. We stayed at the Imperial Hotel which was pretty good even if it was like a rabbit warren. Took us quite a while just to find the room! I fell asleep after an hour and was a bit restless. The beds were a little too small, esp for far bar steward like me. We eat lunch at the restaurant due to the now appalling weather outside. Blustery wind, rain lashing, choppy waters. Gotta love A British Summer. Consistently inconsistent.

We get a cab to the venue which is late due to demand and traffic. Get there and the clock is ticking and our chips have been unbagged. A quick cuff and Dan and I exchange good lucks. I sit down at my table and don't recognise anyone apart from a chap I met yesterday called Tejinder who seemed like a really nice guy. Stacks wise there's one youngish kid to my left who obv plays online and has over 100k. No one else has stacks and we have a few shorties. Kid to my left is playing every hand. He opens and shows Aces.
Q
Very next hand he opens again to 2600 at 600/1200. We'll soon put a stop to this. I have Q10ss and even though he's opened from early I wanna let him know I'm here. I 3 bet to 6125. It folds to him. He's counting out chips. errrr you're supposed to fold mate. I'm the Captain of this poker table.

Eighteen Thousand Five Hundred. Ai Ai Captain. I tank fold. I did consider shoving. I always do tbh. I always wanna 3/4/5/6 bet and this actually wasn't a bad hand or spot to do it in. I decide to give up on this occasion though. "U wanna see?" He says confidently. Bollox. He has air. Cocky git! Go on then show me whippersnapper. He flips kings. PHEW! I smile and say I mucked AQ but warn him, when we get into a pot if I'm not winning I'll get there. He just laughs.

The table is very passive and my new mate is taking full advantage of the situatiion by opening 116% of all unopened pots. I am glad I'm on his left but at the same time he's winning all those yummy blinds and antes. I will let him for a bit though. Like tikay I'll be patient. Matey opens for the umteenth time in mid position and I call hi jack with QJ green. Here goes....

Flop is T99 one green. He c bets for 3700. I can call here but I raise to 9100. One cos I like my hand on this board and I know he's gonna be c betting this board a ton and finally I can decide what to do on the turn rather than call/call/fold I can raise/bet and possibly bet river as a bluff. He confirms with dealer how much it is and calls. I don't know whether he's being stubborn with Ace high or has a hand.

Turn is a green 7 so the board is now  and I have  . So I load the gun and fire 16,600 with around 30 behind. I've made my mind up that I'm not bet folding so this could be it however I'm sure he gives up a lot on this turn so when he announces "I'm all in" I'm like olweihfoweijhfowjif but I call.

"I've not got much" I say

"Neither have I"

My overcards are live I think! "Well you're winning" I say as I flip my hand over

He grimaces and flips  River pairs the 7 and I win a 150kish pot with Q high. That's how we do it! I chip up to around 180k and then swing back to 140. However it won't be long before me and matey clash again.....

So me and my new friend are still taking it turns to raise pots however as I'm chipping down he's chipping up to almost 300k after a glut of hands and shorties rejamming light. He is wild and plays with no fear. I remember those days

I have been opening UTG quite a bit but with genuine hands. I really do not want to get involved in stupid games with him as I will level myself. However I mention this because it plays a key role in the huge pot we play. I open utg with 66 and he calls out of the big blind. Board runs out rags. We both check flop. He bets turn and we both check river and he shows 99. This tells me that with marginal hands out of the big blind he's most likely to flat.

One more thing before this hand takes place. In the hand directly before it I open UTG+1 with A2dd. Big blind just calls and we again check down a K7248 board and he shows AQ. I have to show my A2 which although isn't a bad hand it does blemish my image (I haven't had to show too many hands)

So pot in question. I'm utg. Blinds are 1200/2400. I open to 5100 with AQss. It folds to villian in big blind and he starts counting out a 3 bet. As soon as he does this I am fairly sure he has air. Due to the info of the previous hand he has told me he will only 3 bet the top of his range. I'm sure he has air on this occasion though.

I call and I believe it's a pretty easy call. I may decide to 4 bet induce but I decide to take the low variance line and call. Besides I am not sure he would 5 bet here and if he does I have to go with it which I'm not happy to do when we're this deep.

Flop is 442 rainbow. I've pretty much decided with my call pre that I'm calling c bets on most boards and this is certainly one I'm not folding one. The difficult decision will come on the turn. I call pretty quickly.

The turn is a beautiful putting two clubs on board. He bets again. Around 26k. This is where I put on the show. It's a simple call down for me but I want him to think I'm worried about the Ace. I stare him down but he's unfliching. I count out the bet a few times and check the rest of my stack. I look at him again trying to convince I have dem eights or nines. I throw the chips in whilst looking at him. Then look toward the board. Its the 6 of spades.

He announces "I'm all.... in"  I believe I interrupted him with the words "I CALL" before he had a chance to say it. It was a hyper turbo snap and I don't mind i would look pretty stupid if he flipped the Ace king. He says "Nice hand" and mucks. 350k Smiley
