There aren't enough diaries on here, so I thought I'd start another one. A sort of sports betting / poker / other stuff diary.

As of today, gambling is my only source of income and, for now at least, I am no longer a racing journalist  Cry

It was time for a change after ten years of the same thing. I'm not the tipster I was five years ago, nowhere near.

But I can't go from writing 1000s of words a week, which I've done for god knows how long, to zero. Especially now Tighty has nicked the Luton thread off me too.

My two biggest single bits of binkage last year were Josie (Big Brother) and Oostiehoostie in the Open. And mainly because of putting them up on here I ended up having more on than I would otherwise, especially Oostiehoostie after a PM session with nico, so doing a diary ought to be profitable anyway.

Looking forward to this. Looks like you bet on a broad selection of things too. Something for everyone.

is this diary going to run in tandem with the one that the sicilian is ghost-writing for you on the rail?

Chomper, look forward to reading this.

One question - you don't ever really post much in non-Luton or sports related threads. How come?

Never really read them in truth.

Luton thread, Tikay's nonsense, Celtic's excellent 'day in the life of a moderator' stuff, few of the sports betting threads, and that's about it.

Spend far too much time fishing on the Betty forum. They love me over there. My record at calling photo finishes is legendary.

Can't compete with Sir Donks. Him and China Mug are on a different level.

Good luck with the new income stream.

Nope, nowhere near Wisbech but apparently St Neots in the fens. Wisbech is in the fens, Wisbech is in Cambs, St Neots is in Cambs, therefore St Neots is in the fens. Luton G is full of incred humour like this.

GL with the diary

Always been in racing. Given first job by Compo (broadcasting dept) at Coral in 1988, then five years at Weatherbys, then editor of the Form Book for a few years, then sports editor of the incredible Raceform On Saturday. Done Spotlights in the Racing Post since around 2003, plus a weekly column in the Racing & Football Outlook, Sprintline. Few other bit and bobs too.

LOLZ, never fails to amuse.

Why are you not as good a tipster as five years ago? I am assuming you IR stuff involves very little tipping as such?

Sprintline is a tipping service you run?

Fav curry?

Chicken tikka korai madras. The Luton G Jalfrezi wants avoiding at all costs, likewise their cardboard naan.

When was the last time you cooked a meal?

Seriously? Would guess around five years ago.

Do you have any pets?

Two cats and Sir Donksalot.

Top 5 players at luton?

Not you, although you have awesome game and would win mega dimes if only you could take it seriously. Been very impressed by Dean Morris from what I've seen.

How much have you won though IR?

£860b. Roughly. -£251 today though, so might stay in.

biggest winning/losing day?

Nothing spectacular on the horses. Around +£3k. Biggest losing day around -£1k. Biggest winning day, Ukraine's Eurovision, around £20k.

How funny did I find it when you recently placed a mug bet and gg'd  1200 notes?

Very I would imgaine. Still hurts.
