thought i would start a golf betting thread as i have a bet most weeks and would like to see if i'm up or down at the end of the year. i will start off with a bank of 200 pts and will post on here my selections for the week.

this week

abu dhabi golf

F. Molinari  2 pts e/w @ 25/1  (mr consistancy 10th & 13th last 2 years)
H. stenson 1.5 pts e/w @ 50/1 (power hitter should suit course)
A. Quiros   1.5 pts  e/w @ 40/1 ( as stenson power hitter should suit course)

didnt bother this week with bob hope classic nothing stood out for me.
all backed with a local bookie who pays 1/4 odds for six places. also fancied but didint back as could'nt get decent price locally, D. Willett avail @ 100/1  & J.P. Gonnet avail @ 200/1

would love if some other people wanted to join in too.

cheers Moon

Be good to keep a rec of my golf bets.

Will start with 100 point bank too.

Abu Dhabi selections:

1.5 Point wins- Kaymer@8-1

                        Westwood@9-1.

0.5 pt ew's- Manassero@66-1

                    Rhy Davies@175-1.

                   Eduardo Molinari@66-1

Balance=94 points.

Kaymer's won this 2 of the last 3 years. Westy is pure class and will be on a roll from last season's finish. The other two are good young players at generous prices with every chance of a reasonable showing.

Haven't looked at the us one yet, thh coverage tilts me tho and might put me off even from the sweat factor.

Edit- just added on eduardo molinari at 66s, almost 3 times his brother's price- i actually think he's the more talented sibling.

I'm on Manassero @ 90 on BF

I also fancy Poults who I'll probably bet IR as the current 16/1 seems a little skinny to me.

I'm really looking forward to this as it's a very strong field.

I've had a small bet @ 320 on John Parry who had a fantastic second half of last year too.

Nice work so far Kaymer, meh the rest of em.

Topping up the portfolio as bar the leader the places look up for grabs and it's still top 3 1/4 the odds with tote which seems fair, both of these are on -7, just 2 strokes from second.

0.5 pt ew's   Niclas Fasth@66/1

                    Rafa Echenique@80/1

Balance=92 Points.

Crazy finish to the us golf with some mad action on Betfair - someone apparently laying Woodland at 1.1 for 100k when Vegas went into the water.

Ok so new balance is 105.5 points thanks to kaymer.

Prob going to leave the european event this week as tbh the field dsnt mass excite me and i can't see much value neither.

In contrast over the pond 'The farmer's insurance open' look's a great betting event.

Woods at 11-4 odd gives nice prices to the rest.

I normally follow dustin johnson on the us tour in most comps and this week is no different, i'd make him second fav most weeks and am happy to get 20+ on a huge talent.

The other wagers all appear to have lovely place value as well as all being potential winners. Seems quite a bit of dead wood around and as said prev i think woods taking up so much of the book allows for value elsewhere.

2PTS WIN Dustin Johnson@21-1

1PT EW Mahan@45-1

0.5 PT'S EW Laird@70-1

                  Leishman@80-1

                  Appleby@125-1

Balance 98.5 Points.

I'll play along if you dont mind as normally bet the golf each week

Euro tour event not my cup of tea either this week.

Going for something slighly different in the US tour event, with it being first time up for alot of the players this season

Starting balance:- 100pts

4pts Nick Watney top ten finish @ 5/2
4pts Rickie Fowler top ten finish @ 13/5

Both got course form, both from Calafornia, and both generally very consistent (finished in top 10 in at least 3rd of tour events played last year)

I've gone for last years winner Ben Crane - apparently the rough is quite heavy on the course so hopefully his driving accuracy will keep him in touch.

right no luck last week molinari finished 8th was the best i could do so bank down to 190 (i will halve this to 95 to stay in step with nico and t-mar)

so Bahrain

.5 ew d.horsey @ 100/1
.75 ew Ed molinari  @ 40/1
.5 ew John parry @ 90/1
gonna be a very low scoring week i think, all capable of going low.
san diego

.75 ew brandt snedeker @ 50/1 good course form 2nd here in the past
.5 ew jamie lovemark @ 250/1 led nationwide tour last year is only 22 and have heard he is a real talent, hoping he's this years rickie fowler!

new bank 89 pts
lets hope for a decent sweat.

Smallish win bets this week in the Farmer's on JBHolmes @ 110, and Martin Laird @ 80.

I may still get on theTiger IR but 11/4 is a joke price for someone who is winless in over a year imo.
