Just a quick note to say thanks for all the support I got at UKIPT Notts. It surprised and pleased me the number of calls, text messages and good lucks I received on Monday. It really makes a difference ( to me anyway ) to know people have taken time out on a Monday morning to wish me well, again thanks to all.
The comp was a rollercoaster ride from start to finish with to many pivotal hands to mention. I ran well at times and got bad beat at times but the one thing I take away from the event is I learn`t a lot. This game is always going to take its toll but to me it is a skill game with elements of luck and you can never get away from that.
I have never considered myself to be a good player just an improving player ( I know some people consider me to be an awfull player but I don`t mind that I have an eye on their chips) and that to me is the key to poker. In simple terms
                     Experience,Learn,Self criticise,Improve,Repeat.
Finally I must mention Romano Pizzaro my poker nemesis he is totally mad and plays any two on all three streets fast and loose and the last place you want to be is on his right as I was on the final table. He has according to his hendon mob profile been on three final tables and they have one thing in common I have been on every fecking one of them what are the chances of that!! He is however an OK guy away from the table and a better player on it than people give him credit for. So good luck to him and I hope he makes a final table in Vegas as he cannot make one without me.
Again thanks to all who took time to wish me well and see you in Manchester if not before.

Great effort 'again' Mike

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

ha ha. some consider you an awful player?Huh?? wtf. you are mister gukpt and mr ukipt. results count buddy and just coz you dont 4 bet light, squeeze on the button and claim to be a cash player when anyone questions why you aint got any flags on the hendon mob. this does not make you awfull.  you have a winning style that you maximise to the full. some of the young lads need to take a look at the guys who have been in the game for years and they will realize the more flare/any two players are all broke and the more solid guys are financially stable and dont need to worry where the next few buy ins are coming from.

Hi Mike,

I was on your table in seat six for at least five or six hours on day two, as was another blonde Jim"77Dave" McShane(seat 4) until my demise on the feature table at the hands of Signor Pizzo who although eccentric, extrovert, and loud was never in any way ungentlemanly.

In fact he made the table interesting and action-packed which probably explains why I never really tangled in any big pots with you. We both knew that there were better spots, well I did anyhow.

Well done on making another final and for being good company thoughout.
