Nothing wrong there mate ,  just unlucky

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

I dont get it, you limp with AA fair enough, you get a raise then just flop call it.

You get a safe flop, and you move all in? If he has any hand he will bet it anyway, the only hands that flop are the ones u want in, AK AQ etc

Having said that, ul.

I'm not a fan of the flat call of sw1rvin's 800 raise, inviting two opponents to see a flop with you. I believe this slow play works better when there's just one of them.
It worked well for you though, you got your money in with by far the best hand on the flop, he had just 2 outs and a backdoor flush draw, what happens thereafter is irrelevant so well played.

I understand your point, but the limper hasn't shown any particular strength so must be on a marginal holding. I want him in the pot and I want the pot big enough so that even if they have marginal hands they might call my all-in. I actually had the raiser on 99 or TT, basically annoucing they have a good hand but will fold to a re-raise. Having played tight, if I re-raise here I give the game away, On a raggy low flop, 8's and 7's are too weak to raise here, but any pair above is going to call my all-in and assume I'm on a draw or a bluff. I'm unlikely to extract many chips from AK or AQ (though this guy is weak enough that he might have called with one or both).

I think my reasoning is sound, just tell me if I'm talking gubbins.  Cheesy

Don't mean to sound harsh, but that is pretty poor reasoning, if you have him on 99 TT check, he isnt folding anyway. If he has a worse hand he cant call the bet, if he has A9 say, he gets away for 0, check teh flop u will get at least something

I wouldn't call it bad play, it's just not my style. If I'm slow playing aces before the flop, it's against only one opponent. If I do slow play them pre-flop, I certainly almost always follow through the slow play and check the flop to the guy who has the betting initiative.

Against two or more, I like to stick a sizeable chunk in before those 3 cards are placed in the middle. I'm not too bothered if it gives my hand away (I rarely play with deep stacks where this is much of a problem) or if they all fold to the call re-raise. When the latter occurs, it's not that bad a thing, if I could net 6.5 big blinds every time I'm dealt AA I'm laughing.

Thats it Tank, i mean its not really a slowplay, you have moved in first to speak, the only diffrence between doing that on the flop and pre flop, is u are far more likely not to be called, and more likely to lose when you are called
