It's also another depressingly bad British card.

A British bad card buried under a good card from the US of A

Yeah the US card is very good. I think Matthysse has the edge in talent and power. It can't really be anything other than a barnstormer though. Crawford also a top 10 p4p for me.

Fonfara KO interests me against Jnr. Jnr has never been difficult to hit and whilst he has always seemed to have a granite chin he has always been fighting smaller men. Fonfara is a genuine light heavy and didn't disgrace himself against Adonis. He will know he isn't getting a decision on the cards so will surely throw some bombs.  There's always the chance that now ain't doesn't have to boil down that he will have done even less work in training than normal.

Who knows what you'll get with the Chavez Jr. Fonfara looks like a world class plodder, the sort of guy who ain't a world beater but will scalp an A list guy who has an off day.

There's a decent Matt Provo preview from HBO that makes use of the Compubox punch numbers http://www.insidehboboxing.com/inside/2015/4/16/compubox-matthysse-vs-provodnikov

The cards in the Matthysse fight were a disgrace. Right man won but wtf were the judges watching. Matthysse won by a distance.

Great heart and chin from Ruslan though.

Wowsers, Chavez Jr is a deluded train wreck. Not satisfied with his chosen catch weight of 172, he wants a re-match at 170. Oh yeh and he thought he was winning (lost almost every round) the fight prior to the knockdown!

Great shouts as always, Baz!

Even more gutted about Luis now, as that sank a 30/1 treble...

Bazza's going to take the Fonfara winnings and have the biggest bet of his life when Dirty Derry challenges for a world title.

Froch must be gutted at missing out on a shot at Jnr in Vegas. He would have ripped him a new one and made a lot of $$ in the process. No where for Jnr to go now unless he gets the diuretics back out and makes 160 again.

Having a read today and not many had Derry winning last night. Apparently he was 13/8 going in to the last round and he lost that.

Was pretty comical that it was a UD, especially given he was a reasonable sized underdog on Betfair after the first few rounds.

I honestly thought the fix was in, and it would be a majority draw, or something similar.

Felt sick when I saw Matthews bouncing around the ring, because he had obviously been given the heads up.

Off to Brum next weekend, and the treble would have paid for the lot...

Surely he gets slapped about next time? (and loses)

Did you hear that one about the British heavyweight who is scheduled to fight at Madison Square Gardens?

Promoter Steve Goodwin has secured a fight for Tom Dallas fighting on the undercard of this months Klitschko Jennings bout.   http://www.boxingmediauk.com/kent-heavyweight-tom-dallas-has-been-handed-the-opportunity-of-a-lifetime/

This is absolute fairytale stuff for Tom Dallas, best of luck to him.

Obv he got splatted in round 1. Being unable to take a punch is slighlty problematic for a pro boxer, still he's probably a good sparring partner when everyone is wearing head guards and pillow gloves.
