It's Martin
I take it all back.
Shame my accounts are shy of taking action on SPOTY.

Putting aside the joke situation of the IBF title, who would you rather of seen AJ fight instead?

I have no problem with him fighting Martin, its clever on their part, AJ gets a World championship and gets to fight world level opponents in his defences to get himself ready for Fury/wilder/haye.

In what context do is Charles Martin awful? It's not as if any better names were in the mix for April 9th.

Technically, he has a habit of standing on one leg as he swings wild punches. He just looks average. I would expect Joshua to have far too much for him.

On the other hand he's not useless. He's also the same size as AJ. It's going to be a tough nights work.

But of help needed please.
We have Darren Barker in the studio this evening as a guest, andI don't know a deal about him, other than his rather unusual career ending injury.
And interesting facts or questions to ask him?
If you want to ask him yourself, either #skypokertv or his own Twitter feed which is @darrenbarker82
Thanks.
PS - the show is on Sky Sports 4, 10pm until midnight tonight.

Ask him about how he got up from the body shot against Geale. That punch would have dismembered a charging rhino. Barker got back to his feet and won the blooming fight!

Darren always comes across as a nice lad. He lost his brother in a car accident 10 years ago and he dedicated his world title win to him. When he won the title he was knocked down and badly hurt by a body shot in the 6th round. I had backed him and thought I'd done my dough as people just don't recover from shots like that. Somehow he got up and survived the round and the rest is history. He was a man inspired that night and I'm not sure he would ever have reached that level again, sadly injury meant we never got to find out.

Thanks Tal & Bazza, excellent questions, exactly what I was hoping for, & both were read out.
We were a little dubious as to mentioning his brother, but it soon became clear that the loss of his brother was a very big factor in Darren's later success, so we discussed it at length.
And Bazza was correct, a genuinely nice lad, likeable, bright, sharp, with the humility I like to see in champions. He's big pals with Spencer Oliver, who we had on the Show recently too, who is another smashing lad.
I just love meeting these guys. I got some abuse from a player last week who mocked me & these "z-list Celebrities who appear on the Show". Well he's not Mayweather, no, but to me, I really get a buzz from meeting these guys.
He lives in Barnet, & has 2 kids now.
One question that arose too late to be asked on the show was this......
Why is British boxing so strong? Through every weight division we have talent either already at World level or threatening to break through. I genuinely don't understand what we're doing to produce so many talented fighters. The boxing scene in Britain has not been so exciting since the 1980s.
Fair question? If so, what's the answer?

Golovkin team now claiming they have signed contracts to fight the winner of Khan v Canelo.
If Khan wins v canelo he needs to immediately retire. Golovkin would do serious lasting damage to Khan.

Am I the only one that thinks Chudinov should be 1/4 tonight. Comfortably won the first fight and should be on the upgrade. Sturm is now 37 and has been on the downgrade for a few years and only has 2 wins in his last 7 and one of them was against a broken Darren Barker. I backed him at 4/9 a while back and expected him to be much shorter come fight night but there's still some 4/9 left.
