It's Pulev out Takam in. October the 28th Cardiff show rolls on like normal. This is a fair old downgrade to a solid but unspectacular contender/high level gate keeper.

End result will be the same and the majority of the crowd won’t know the difference between the two. Getting the IBF to make Takam mandatory means they won’t have to revisit Pulev next so it hasn’t worked out too badly for Hearn. I was sure we were going to see whyte v AJ II when I first heard the news. I guess with no IBF mandatory that didn’t overly appeal plus he is trying to angle a shot at Wilder for Whyte and that would have been dead in the water after another defeat by AJ.

Turns out AJ is that big a draw they had Takam as a first reserve with his own fight scheduled a couple of weeks after. I was looking forward to an AJ inside raid on Pulev, as he did on Wlad, and fear short stocky Takam will make for an anticlimactic straight forward break him down job.

ZZ needn’t have bothered turning up. Burnett won the fight but two of the cards were a joke.

A photo of the cards after 6 rounds appeared on twitter. Burnett was up 60-54, 59-55, 58-56. When most had it level.

The odds against on Rob Brant to beat Jurg Braehmer in the last WBSS quarter final has quickly disappeared. Jurg is a few weeks shy of 39 and a career light heavy cutting down, give me the unknown super middleweight training out of the same gym as Errol Spence and Charlo.

Marky, there's still 40s and 50's outright if you want to flick in a saver. Smith looks beatable and the bumhunter Tesco Joe drafted Skoglund rather than Yildrim or Brandt.

Can't get on with any of the 50s mobs, but used a freebet on him with BMU.

Cheers for the heads up, Mcg.

People be catching on to the Derrick James trainer of the year bandwagon after Charlo's highlight reel round 1 KO of Lubin. I planning on chucking Brant in a degen AJ fight night multi to make it easier to get on but he's been hammered over the weekend. Pre tournament he was best prices of 6/4 and 40-1.

I like Brant a lot. I’m hoping he somehow manages to win without really letting the cat out of the bag so we get a price on him beating Smith.

There's not much buzz for tonight's card of Matchroom fighters versus late notice opposition. Surprisingly I could back a double of Katie Taylor and Dillian Whyte to win by KO (2/5 and 2/3). Even Buglioni by stoppage if he wasn't so familiar with Richards from sparring.

Major alarm bells went off when Helenius was stopped in 6 by Duhaupas. The big lump should box well for a bit then crumble.
Taylor's opponent won a vacant belt 6 weeks ago versus an opponent coming off a 3 year lay off.
Craig Spider Richards is a 9 and 0 southern area champion from the weight division below, a slick not slick backfoot fighter of the Tyrone Nurse ilk.
slimline Dave Allen's opponent is a 6'8 wild card. He doesn't look completely useless considering he was chosen over Sean Turner and old Dorian Darch.
I've a rule about not taking less than evens on a round 1 KO but Okolie sure is tempting.
Big shout out to Yafai for fighting someone who's had a full camp.

Here's the full running order  look, it'll be about 10:30, okay?

Got a bottle of scotch, game of cards, and some pizzas.

Looking forward to Dylian, more than AJ.

Colin Farrell smoothly ensuring everything he said about Katie Taylor was politically correct, as celebs have to in this current climate.
