Well there's day 1's and there's day 1's and yesterday has to be the best day 1 I have ever played and probably the best I have played in a £1k event (probs less than 15 lifetime).

My first table was good and within 1 level I had reliable reads on 2 of the players one who stared at you constantly when he had it and one who stared at you constantly when he didnt so I just tried to get to rivers with each of them heads up and see who they were looking at and chipped up to 64k very early then I played an unraised pot vs the btn and sb and having turned a double gutter I missed the river and over bet bluffed the river against a villain I took a similar line to when I actually had it which went to showdown but he snapped with off and I was back to starting.

The next 2 levels I bled down to 38k and went through the chip envy against others on my table and against the avg stack but just reminded myself that I had 60+ bb's so no panic, after dinner I chipped back up to 75k in a series of small pots before our table broke and I was moved to a table where I was oop to Robbie Bull and JudgeDredd (top man).

I was playing solid and got a bluff through otr (albeit a bad card with better bluffing cards available) with J9dd on 10107dsc 10x and showed Robbie who nearly called with JQ high.
Then at 100k and blinds 6/1200/100 I opened Q7hh utg and Robbie 3's to 5200 which Judge flats the button and back to me I now have to peel, the flop was 346 with one heart and there was 18k roughly in the pot so I checked, Robbie bet 10200 which Judge called so I called with the backdoors and pinged the on the turn which unfortunately got checked round.  The river bought the and I checked with Robbie betting 18700 that Judge called with a grimace so I just called (Crab says I should raise as I should not want to show Q7hh Wink  ) and I was good vs AA and 1010 and upto 180k at the next break.

I then got a table move and within 2 hands got my welcome to the table hand when finding KK in the small and a pot that was min opened UTG with Ludo flatting in the co so I made it 10600 at 8/1600 but the BB overcalled as did the OR and Ludo and I was not loving life, even more so when the flop was rainbow 910J but felt I  had to bet so had decided to bet/fold and led for 18500 with only the UTG calling, the turn paired the 9 and I had given up in my head but the villain checked back and I binked a King river and bet out 46500 which was pretty much snapped by Qx and scooped to go well over 200k.  For the next few hands I raised most pots as it was 20 mins before the end and then got a table move where I opened one pot and folded to a raise from a big stack who when I was walking over to the table I heard discussing the fact he was not going to play unless he had a hand and then the very last hand of the night I opened A10dd and ending up calling the river with A high and was good vs K high that missed the flush but had bet turn and river and I think the cameras were on us as he was chippie so you may see an Eso hero call (Shock)

I also made a call early on with 9high bvb in a small pot which was a personal highlight as I was 100% sure it was good so go into Day2 Friday hoping for a good table draw first and then lets makes some hands......
