14 FOR LUNCH!!

Had a really good weekend as a couple of times a year the only relly's on my Dads side get together for a meal normally at their families home in Leighton Buzzard but this time we offered to host it and Petra decided the theme would be an authentic Slovak day so she prepared a menu and we got all the ingredients we dont have from the "Slovak Shop" in Westcliff and from Saturday morning Petra was busy prepping for everyone including 2 veggies and 2 kids.

She did amazingly well and when i got in from work on Saturday helped her by taking Maxwell and Bentley for a long walk before bathtime then doing some of the prep with her and cleaning up till we finished at 10pm, Sunday went really well and it was good to see everyone and they all enjoyed the food with traditional Slovak beer which was followed by a 2 hour walk along the sea front.

I love living by the sea even through the winter nothing beats a stroll with the dog letting him run on the beach in the fresh air!!!

Also luckboxed my way to a win overall in sports betting the weekend after my horse fancy ran down the track and a small footie investment didnt return anything i realised at 11pm last night that after reading the NFL blog on B Tips and Sport Disc and seeing Kukushkins well thought out post that i had placed a £35 acca on his 4 more matches mentioned under total points and had a sweat in the 3rd match as with 4 mins to go could not afford any more points to be scored,  oi oi ship the £466  Smiley  gonna place a few quid on o horse each way today!!

Ok if you look in "The Lounge" forum and find the MOVEMBER thread Greekstein has promised that if the thread raises £2k or more then "he will dye his hair PINK and have a Mohawk with the remainder shaved off completely!!

Im defo doing this and have set up a blonde team (see link)

So come on and join me, all you need to do is register and join the team which is The Blondeites and all the donations should show on the team page.

What does authentic Slovak dinner consist of mate?
Well it started with 2 soups (one vegetarian) made from scratch a vegetable one and then a Goulash type soup

Followed by Chicken and Pork Schnitzel's which are egg soaked and breadcrumb dipped before being fried or baked and served with a potato salad made with mayo peas gherkins and chopped boiled egg

2 cakes were baked one called  Babovka which is a chocolate spunge and a fresh fruit spunge cake

then after the walk a platter of

Slovak Bread with a choice of 3 homemade pastes

A Goats cheese butter and chive mix

Cheese and Garlic

A different cheese and butter and spice mix
served with chopped tomatoes and peppers

She is a really good cook as it's kind of passed on from your mum and as Slovakia is not a rich country thier dishes are basically using every bit of the joint you can to make soups or other dishes and their traditional xmas dinner is Carp fish which is served on the 24th December so i get 2 Xmas lunches
