Away from that with the weather being pretty incred down here we went for a walk along the front about 10 mins from where we live into "Old Leigh" which is a pretty little fishing village where you can buy fresh fish off the boat or sit outside in a couple of nice pubs and have a beer with some seafood, obv at this time of year the place is pretty rammed as you can see.
That's Max on the scooter and Petra with the dog in front with me and the pram.
Fishing Boats going out for the day
This week see's the Genting Poker series hit Southend which as I posted previously will be the least attended stop of the year but a great tourney none the less and I freerolled my regular investors with %'s carried over if we won a prize in the DTD raffle a few months ago plus a decent % going to the charity as well (in before x % of zip is zip) so as they have a reduced % in the first bullet I am sure the degens are hoping we bink off the 2nd bullet
Need to update next time on

GL anyone coming to Southend this weekend.

Good to hear things are flying mate!
My old man is back in the mortgage game now, and is in exactly the same boat at the moment. I think he loves it though, all these hours on the road give him some peace and quiet
Wow he must "love the game" to go back into Mortgages as lenders dual price constantly and are definitely trying to stop using intermediaries wherever possible down here and for Brokers the proc fees have gone right down so they have to charge the clients arrangement fees themselves just to make up the diff.
That is one area of the industry I am glad we are not too heavily involved in.
Does he just do that or other forms of advice ie investment etc?

I echo your thoughts on the housing market, its absolutely nuts in our area. Our friend just bagged this in our street to sell:
http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-42777404.html
Which is expensive for Leeds/Up north I tell thee, only been on a week and already had lots of offers, enquirers.
Anything reasonably priced is going for virtually full asking price. Are people getting really good mortgage deals? seems to be making huge difference.

Sandmoor innit, possibly the most expensive street in Leeds, backs on to Moortown golf course, Sandmoor 2mins away and alwoodley course 5mins walk.

Wow nice pad, bit "Footballers Wives" for me but meh!
Santander have some good mortgage deals atm but are the slowest due to the uptake but some people are getting scared of missing out again hence the boom here.
Does your Gf/Wife still work in estate agency?

Yes at weekends. But going to work during week when little ones start nursery and primary school in September. She makes double her wage in commission alone...she has a real passion for selling houses so it comes easy to her i think. She is always surprised how most people who work in estate agents don't push for all the extra's that make the firm alot in commission, it aint all about just selling the house as you will know more than anyone.

Just the way things worked out, and I think he is actually enjoying being back in the business.
I just asked him, but he was on his way out the door so didn't elaborate. He does pension reviews and estate planning as well, but I guess the company has dedicated wealth management staff for anything beyond the reviews.

Went down to Genting Southend to play the 10seat Gtee which eventually made 19 seats and this goes against what I was thinking would be a lack of runners for the main event which is good for the club, unfortunately I didnt manage to bink so played a bit of cash till 4am and when the 1/2 game broke there was a little omaha game starting so sat down with a few of the old regs who I first started playing with many moons ago just for a chat.
This man was here also (bald guy at end of the table) Mr Dave Penley but I think he pretty much pure bubbled a sat seat which would no doubt please a few on blonde.
