Just a quick one to thank Rich again for a great evening yesterday. Whilst the England team were severely mediocre, Rich was excellent company and the whole experience was great - cheers.

As an aside, I see the hospitality brigade taking a lot of stick in the press - not turning up on time, not making enough noise, but most of all being back late to the seats after half-time.

All I would say on this is how is a chap supposed to back for the off if there is a twenty minute wait for Jeeves to bring over a glass of fizz and a prawn sandwich or two? Preposterous Wink
Cheers Ed
Thank you for donating and coming last night, you were also excellent company! (I shall post some pics of Ed's chosen footie attire but he would have won best dressed male foshow)

Ed ran pretty bad in the flips that we discussed over dinner and we had £20 a pop on 7 markets with us taking it in turn to decide which side we were on and the bets were, with my side to the right
Even/Odd total corners   -     Even
Even/Odd time of first goal minute  -  Odd
First goal on or before 27mins   -  Before
Time of last goal on or after 77mins  - After
Team to be carded first   - England
Team to be carded last    - England
Shirt numbers odd or even   - Even

I had also backed earlier in the week BTTS and when Chile scored early on I thought I was freerolling the bet cos surely England will score and I declared "If I dont cop that bet I will retire" (obv never gonna happen) and into injury time I was losing all bar 1/1 of the flips but we didnt know how many corners at this point till Alexis scored his second in the 94th minute which meant I scooped  over mins, moved from odd shirts to even and we then found out that there were 12 corners so won that as well and Ed had unfortunately had a £60 swing which resulted in me winning 5-2 so that is a further £60 to Movember tyty Mr G.

England were pretty tez though and then not having gone via tube/train before I had to endure this ( obv photo not from last night)

So it took nearly 1 hour from the end of the match to get on the tube and then in true commuter fashion I missed my station stop as I was sleeping on the return leg by 3 stops and ended up in the centre of Southend and I was buggered if I was going to wait for the train the other way so got a taxi back home!

Tonight it's back to Luton to try and make day2 in the £200..

Was a bit of  a gaff on my part - headed straight to stadium from the station thinking 'there'll be someone doing it in the ground'....then there wasn't. Assumed Rich had been on the same wavelength when he arrived but turned out he hadn't seen the post from Dubai at all so first he heard was from me Sad

Parker carries a kit with him at all times. Failure to plan is planning to fail.

s'all good then brah.

In the military they had a saying which I was never much a fan of; "Piss poor planning prevents piss poor performance.." I prefer the slight modification to your one "failing to prepare is preparing to fail".

Jeaves must be a poor man's Parker then! I am currently enquiring into sourcing a Manuel. Manuels are about the 6th step down on the servantometer.

Proper preparation prevents piss poor performance was the one we got in civvy street.

Meh.

At Raleigh we had 'prior preparation prevents piss poor performance'

Although, my first memory of basic training was marching down from new entry to Cunningham, and my instructor saying 'Herron, if you don't stop tick tocking I will cut your f***ing legs off you fat ****' Cheesy

Nowadays it's probably more 'Excuse me Mr Herron, Sir. If possible could you address the manner in which you are marching, it doesn't seem to be quite correct. Thanks you so much'

Day2 made at Luton with 119400 going back to 1/2000/200 and had a few interesting hands!

I am double tired as got in at 1am Sat morning and was in the office at 8 working till 5pm and then went home walked the dag, drove to Luton, played and finished at 2.45 but the M25 was closed on the way back so the detour meant getting in at 4.30 and was up at 8.15 to speak to Petra in SVK before coming to work for a few hours and leaving for Luton at 12.45.

Vinny better buy me lunch today is all I can say!!
