Bivvid up about 2 miles past danby wiske. Gales will be keeping me awake methinks. Good flat walk today bit a bit boring.  Mostly field to field and the last 7 miles or so in tarmac. Geo

Bet you are really missing Jack, eh?

Amazing stuff by both of you.

My "training" for a far more modest target probably starts this Friday, hoping to do "Croft" with Tom.

Geo, a fence panel of mine blew away yesterday.  I think it might be near where you are today by now.  If you see it, can you put somewhere safe please thumbs up

(Oh, and great effort fella)

Really long slog today but well worth it. Moors has been my favorite part. Not too many hills when you get up there but the walking is relentless and long with abso stunning views. Dinner at lion inn and then a coouple of quick updates. Geo

Have sent Jack a couple of pics of my dinner. Roast beef on the biggest bap with a huge serving of chips. From richmond to Danby wiske was pretty non descript. Mostly farmlamd and road through  catterick and beyond.  I took off a couple of miles from the next days walk an stopped short of ingleby cross. This was the evening of the gales and whilst safe I got little sleep.

Ingleby was the start of the wall onto the moors. From here it has been breathtaking. Weather been good but blowy. Made my way  to Carlton bank but didn't see a fat black bloke doing a silly dance. Most woodland is set off the main track and lastp night seen a half mile detour but found a decent location and slept well
