Quote

Nicholas Humphris €30,000
approx chip count 1.1m

Tommy Bingham €27,900
Approx chip count 1.9m

Romans Mihailovs €11,500
approx chips 560k

Marios Arkadiou €11,500
approx chips 470k

Mohammed Ashfaq €11,500
approx chips 397k

Ian Turner €10,700
approx chips 450k

Mark Wates €10,700
approx chips 285k

Michael Daryl Haney €10,700
approx chips 161k

Guys can I just correct something please, these chip counts are slightly out. There was 5,985,000 in chips. N Humphris actually had 1,700,000.
What actually happened was, the chip leader was the player pushing for a deal, he wanted both himself and the other cl to take 25k and split the rest equally. Humphris simply said, 30k or carry on, CL said he wanted the same as Humphris as he had more chips. 4 times they were told to carry on. Mario, Romans and Mohammed wanted a little more, T Bingham then said he would take it off his because he wanted a deal and ensured he got more that 2nd place without any risk for an outlay of £50.

D Haney never said a word and obviously benefited from the deal, I could obviously see the ICM was way out and asked the question numerous times if everyone was happy, all insisted they were. In my personal opinion the person who got shafted was Ian Turner but again he said he was happy with the deal (maybe already elated at his golden chip fortune but this shouldnt have made a difference in the deal). Everyones happy at the way their money was split ..... why the haters?

IMO Yes Mario and Romans (possibly Ian) should understand ICM better but they were not forced to deal and were happy with their lot.

The fairest and most simple way is by chip count but this was never requested.

Rich, doesn't the deal have to be fair as well as everyone being happy with it?

Alex

Absolutely not

You pay your money, you takes your choice. Everyone is within their right to say "no deals" and it plays on on. If having this ability makes your opponent fear you and strike a poor deal which they are satisfied with so be it.

Deals by their nature just need to satisfy the individual. If tehy do that, be it technically good or bad, then so be it

Actually at DTD they say to you when you reach a final (shameless brag I know) that deals have to be considered fair.

Rich, doesn't the deal have to be fair as well as everyone being happy with it?

It is a TD's job to make sure nobody is pressured or railroaded into a deal that they dont want.
The one stipulation that a TD has is that in a deal 1st place in a deal can never be more than 1st place prize money (there are exceptions).
It is not for anyone else to judge what makes a player happy, or what financial situation they are in. Even if the chip leader of any comp had a huge chip lead, but 3rd place money gets him/her out of personal shit and he/she wants to lock it up then so be it, even if that means conceding money to a shorty that doesn't want a deal to make them except.

Congratulations to ALL the prize winners in being in the biggest ever overlaid 50 euro comp!

oh no!!

Hopkin is out!

he shoved all in for 68k was called by Mohamed Diab  Stu was in trouble with his K 3 but he did have outs against Mohamed's A Q but the board of Two Diamonds two hearts sent him to the bar in 33rd with €525 of Guiness money

Sigh such a good comp, really enjoyed it

No way was the guy who knocked me out called Mohamed! Lol

Mario who I think made the final raped me in the face or I might have got there myself lol

ok boys and girls pls allow me to make a comment on the final deal.
also i have to mention i was one of the final 8.
gg for all the players regardless of the money they received for their effort. now as for the deal good or not good for some of the players, that is their own business and no-one else.blinds 20-40k at the time of the deal with mid stacks at 500k (12bb) and big stacks 1.6m (35bb) it does not take long for them to be knocked out in two hands. So good deal for all, for some better, for some little worst and a big thks to tommy who is a smashing bloke and good luck to him in the future. As for the ICM comments hello!!!! 50eur buy-in, 250-1 return or 550-1 for the top 2. No comment and as a reminder greediness is one of the seven sins thnx. But did I wake up this morning with regrets...yes I did!!! Such a hard slog, at the end it was difficult to make a decision with a clear head. Faced with a choice of a large sum guaranteed or the (tiny) risk of getting a lot less, at the time it seemed like the best thing to do. I would probably do things differently next time.....which I hope will be very soon lol. Smiley gg everyone
