It's all academic until a summons arrives. The information for this must be laid with the courts within 6 months. The summons may then arrive shortly afterwards. Failure to lay the information within 6 months is a win for you and possibly your best hope.

Freeman et al can only expose flaws if they exist. Nothing is guaranteed.

You can't get the jail just for speeding but once you get to well over 100 you risk a dangerous driving charge and then jail for the top end speeds.

Sandy

hmmmm now where did i leave my 3 points and my fine??

Oh yeah it didn't get to court in time hello clean licence!

sorry what i meant to say was i agree with the above post.

The problem ain't  at this present time as 6 points is not affecting your insurance too much. Problems start to arise when you get nearer to a ban. When I got 3 points for being on the phone outside my house and then another 3 points a 2nd time for being hands free but took the phone out of the craddle at some traffic lights I decided not to fight the cases and take the points. When I got to12 points I had to plead exceptional circumstances to keep my license and then at 15 points I had to really blagg in court to keep my license. At 21 points I was caught in Brighton with Ali Mallu and them feckers snap impounded the car and obv did not like the northern charm and banned me for 6 months.
If you ever get done by a speed camera just get someone to take the points for you. Costs about £100 a point but well worth it

Or you could try driving safely, within the legal boundaries, and save yourself a fortune.

Just a thought.

I got done doing 58 in a 30 on Saturday.  Officer said it goes to court for that, I was just thinking I should take the 3 points and £75 by pleading guilty by post.

Any advice speeding experts?

Did he catch u - or is it someone you have spoken to? Was it from a static camera?

Ask to see the evidence i.e. photo, calibration certificate etc

Read that pepi poo site and if still in doubt speak to that solicitor link I put up. As I said they're VERY good, but it all depends on the circumstance whether or not its a +EV thing to do...

I was driving on a dual carriageway near leeds bradford aiport.  The road is a quick one but as I found out is a 30.  I assumed 40 or 50 was the limit as its not in a residential area.  I was driving under the bridge (quite a long one under one of the runways), a chap in the inside lane was going about 25mph.  I overtook and there was another car on the inside lane so i went to overtake him too, he sped up.  Instead of slowing down and pulling in I put my foot down a bit.  When I overtook him I slowed down a touch.

I got out of the tunnel and noticed the police car, I slowed down and thought I he had got me at 40, which i genuinely thought was about the speed limit.  He pulled me over.  Showed me the speed gun at 58mph and told me it was calibrated in July.  He got me from about 400 yards and said he had seen me overtake the other guy.

Didnt talk about the other guy speeding up just listened to officer, being polite thought he might just tell me off... naive.

I asked him what would happen next and he said I would hear from the magistrates court.  I thought it was a tad harsh but nvm.  A police officer I know send me a PM on FB after i posted I had been speeding.  He suggested the 3 points and £75 fine.

LOL, I'm shocked that Jason was allowed to get to 21 points

Quite frankly, he got off lightly with a 6 month ban. He should, at the very least have to take some sort of competency test to get his license back.

I doubt the copper would have a choice, whether to tell you off, as I imagine the gun records all firings. IDK though

Can't you take a speed awareness course, and they let you off the points? Costs about £90, Or have you already done one?

Calibration is annual. There have to be daily checks though.

Getting someone to take your points is risky. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/crime/article2017307.ece
