I expect a kebab report for my extra quid

Had 3 kebabs since then.

Would you like to have contributed to the chicken & lamb, doner or large pork?

Tourney report here or on my diary, or both in the next day or so.

Chicken and lamb. Ever eaten at abrakebra in Ireland?

Sigh, you even ran bad on the kebab front.

The chicken & Pork was OK, just OK, I ordered, then got stuck at work, so was 20 mins late picking it up. A bit of garlic sauce, some salad, lemon & a couple of peppers. 6/10, My fault tho.

Never ate a kebab in Ireland, think it was Laxie that told me about that place, don't think they are Greek or Turkish tho? I only eat kebabs made by those two nationalities. Greek first, then Turkish.

Tourney report coming....

Arrived in Coventry full of confidence and feel good, despite a 2.5 hour journey with Sir Donks.

Met claypole at the hotel and made the short drive to the G Casino, for the first time ever. On the way there, claypole was moaning about security not letting him take his man bag in, and how he had to arry his i-pad around with him all night on thursday.

On arrivl, we had a quick smoke outside with Trigg then headed in. I went to reception armed with my passport, as I didn't have my membership cards with me, and Sir Donks & claypole went through the automated barrier, with Shaun cutely trying to hide his man bag from the receptionists. The lady said she had my details, therefore didn't need my passport, so I shouted out to Shaun..' Can you stick my passport in your bag please Shaun? Smiley Unfortunately, the receptionist didn't pull him up, the security guard did tho later...

Just enough time then to blag a quick drink of Dave Johnson, GUKPT Blackpool Winner and Blue Square player of the year... yawn. Then off to the tournament area for the 6pm start.

We started 7 handed, me in Seat 1, Harvey Butters in 2, Sonia Padovani 3, Dave Sinclair? 4, Ben Jenkins 5, Random chinese burd (who played 3 hands) in 6, and someone called Ali Mallu in 7.

Good mix, and I liked my position on the table. 3&4 were def the blinds I would be going after, and was happy to play pots against them, assuming of course Harvey wouldn't be 3 bettng me much. Ali likes to limp into pots, and the chinese burd just wanted to wait for a pair or better, before entering a pot.

I played with Ben in Vegas, and was by far the best player at the table that day, and out of the 7 starting here, he stood out as the player I didn't really want to get involved with.

The first level was fairly uneventful, fairly sure I got bluffed off a pot by Ali, but I bluffed a couple back, and had more or less starting stack.

During the second level, I got a succesion of pairs & AK/AQ, but all I seemed to do was lose chips. The turning point was at the end of the 50-100, I spannered a few off with 77 v AA v Ben, you know, the one person I didn't want to get involved with? SIgh, this left me on 10125. In the BB I made up a small raise with J5hh, I c/r a cbet from Harvey on a J5Q flop, led the 3 turn, and got called by Harvey & Ali, and bet the 5 river, Harvey flatted and Ali folded his missed draw. This got me back up to 20k, and feeling good again. A few hands later I flopped a set of 4's v Harvey and managed to get 2 streets of value. 24000ish at the 1st break, and all was going well.

By now, we had been joined by James Williams (Cottonbud) & my poker hero Thomas Middleton (hitthehole), and both were sat to my right. 1st hand after the break, i raised KQ from the cut off, and the two blind called. We checked the 10 J 7 flop, led on the 9 turn Smiley I flatted and the called. led the river, I raised, folded, and called, I showed the nut straight, was ashame really, the board paired on the river, and this cost me a lot of chips. No worries though, over 30k now. Only played a couple of pots before we saw 3 exits in 3 hands. Called Ali with K high, and was good ( Middy called me a station Wink ) and heroe'd Middy with a pair of 3's, and was wrong. Obv. He always as it.

Ali exit was a bit strange, guy sits down, 1st hand in the BB, playing 15k. Ben raises utg, Ali 3 bets 2200 from a 6k stack, newbie in the BB jams 15k! Ben folds, Ali calls it off with A8o and is up against AJ. Hmmm.

Then, the tight chinese burd 5x's utg, Middy 3 bets, loony flates, chinese burd james 15kish, middy re jams, looney sigh folds JJ. Middy has the Aces obv, and holds v the Kings.

Next hand I raise, Tight burd in 3bets, looney jams 19k, i do a fold, calls with KK and knocks the looney out, he had QQ. Shortly after, we had a table break. Which was good, as I 3 bet Evile pie's raise utg, and made him fold AQ. And he is bigger than me!

Moved to my new table with about 32k. Seat 3. Had Scotty77 to my right, Nathan had moved with me, and was now to my right, Pab in Seat 7, Random Welsh guy Grrrr in Seat 8, and Redbull in 9. Nothing much happened. I raised AJdd into Pab's BB, then the next hand I had AQ into the Welsh Guy's BB and took down the blinds both times. By now, Scotty was opening most hands, and I decided I was gonna try and slow him down a bit. So, when he makes his 94th raise in a row, I decide to 3 bet from the button with 4 2. I mean, he never has a hand here right? well, he did have one, but decided to flat. He checked the 783 flop, and I continued the story, announcing, Four-Two, and slid 4200 into the middle. See what I did there? Smiley He folded, and I flashed him my cards, with a ' clue was in the bet son, stop raising with junk... He showed AK oops!

Then in the blinds, I get JJ, Nathan Lee 3x's utg, I elect flat, c/c his cbet on a Q54 flop, checked the 3 turn, as I felt he had nothing, he checked back, and I sighed when he bet a ridic value bet on the 2 river Sad paid it off obv, and went for a smoke.

A couple of raise folds to shoves, and I was still hanging around 27-28k, which was still above the average, so no panic. UTG I find AK, Pab shoves, I call, and we chop Sad Not even a sweat for either of us on the flop.

Then, came THAT hand...

I'd played tight really, other than the Scotty hand, and If I had to show, I normally had legimitate hands.

The random welsh guy had been in loads of pots, and was very up & down from what I could see, so I'm in the BB with QQ, and he raises to 1400 @ 300-600, I did consider flatting, but from I could see, he liked to get chips in the middle, so I didn't want to deny him his opportunity.. I make it 3000, and he very quickly makes it 7100. I deliberate for about 30 seconds, and anounce All-in, 27900 total, he has just under 40k. I'm thinking if he has AK/AQ prob AJ he is caling, and any pair from 7's upwards, he's in as well.

Please call!!

He casually called, and sighed when I turned over Queens. I remember thinking when he turned his hand over.. 'OH' A3? hmmm.

Anyway, the flop was a nice    gave him some outs, but I hadn't noticed he had the  three clubs, and in sailed the  on the river Sad There seemed to be a collective groan, and this made realise he had the flush. I wished everyone good luck, and left the table.

I don't really get the call, doubt I ever will, Sir Dons said I shoulda asked him, but to be honest, I don't really want to know, what, if any thought went into the call. I couldn't really remember at the time, if he took long to call, but Pab confirmed he didn't, he just sat back in his chair, picked up four yellow chips, and flicked them in, all within 30 seconds.

So, a huge sigh then, felt I was playing well, only made two small mistakes against a generally good field, and two fairly tough tables.

Thanks for the stake guys, sorry we didn't get a proper sweat going.

Nice report Vincent....that exit hand is so gross. Don't see any point in asking why he called tho....coz he don't really get the pokers? He did his whole stack to Stu in the first level of day 2, AK v Stu's aces...at least it went to the needy Smiley

Cheers Jeff, you're right, no point in asking, spent a bit of time with him on the saturday in a 1/2 cash game, and he seemed to just like to 'get it in' All good for the game. Was just a bit gutted for the people who bought a piece.

Unlucky on bubbling, thanks for taking the time to post, Dave Johnson could learn a thing or two from you on how to conduct yourself on a forum Smiley
